Stampin' Up! Merry Patterns - stepped up

Hello, here are the details for our second project this week using Merry Patterns.

My card started with the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper.  I took the colours in these papers as inspiration for both projects this week.  Although a couple of these papers are most definitely Christmassy, some of them will be useful all year around.

On the original version of this card the deer was stamped in Soft Suede but after a moment (or two) or my customary indecision, I stamped another jumper in Old Olive.

After cutting it out carefully, I adhered it to the deer.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink and then heat embossed with white Stampin' Emboss Powder. I made a background for the sentiment with some stamped branches and some gold sequins.

I stamped some of the branches on the inside of the card too.

Here is the competed card and envelope.  The addition of some jewels, coloured with a red Pro Marker added the finishing touch.

Here are a couple of slightly different versions, both using different DSP and the one on the left has had the edges scuffed.
