Stampin' Up! Hearts Come Home colour changing card!

Hello, following on from the Joy of Sets blog hop earlier this week, here is the second project I made using Hearts Come Home.

I always make 'special' cards for my children; my daughter Rosie particularly likes cards with lots of dimension.

I've been making 'bridge fold' cards for several years and decided to see if I could make one work using Hearts Come Home.   I had a quick look on Pinterest and saw a brilliant card made by the Amanda Bates (The Craft Spa) and off I went, tweaking along the way!

My Pool Party card base has been stamped all over using a background from Pretty Pines to create a snowy backdrop using white Craft Ink.

I cut three panels of various sizes.  The one at the back is adhered to the card base.  The middle panel has a 1 cm tab at each side and the final layer is placed right across the front.

There is space on the reverse of the card to write your message - it has been decorated using the background snowflakes from Pretty Pines.

I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen and some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to add some sparkle.  If you place the nozzle on the cardstock (don't squeeze the bottle), and 'scribble' across the card and then add the glitter you get a natural looking snowline.  I also added some tiny dots of glue to some of the snowflakes.

The die cut trees are made using dies from the Card Front Builder Thinlits.  The tiny deer peeking out from the trees is from the same set and has been cut out with silver foil.

I played around with the measurements so that my card would fold flat and fit into a C6 envelope.

Here is the completed card and envelope.

If you are careful, you can place a colour changing tea light behind the front panel - very tricky to photograph!

I made a red version for my daughter as it is her favourite colour, I hope she likes it.

This card was one of the projects at a recent Workshop.  I was joined by a brand new crafter called Emma.

Emma choose to use the Stampin' Blends to colour the trees on her card - doesn't it look pretty?

These cards always look impressive but, once you understand the mechanism they are quick and easy to put together.  Why not have a look on Pinterest for some inspiration?

I am so pleased that this stamp set and the Hearts Come Home Edgelits dies will be returning next year - I have loved using them.  However, they will not be available as a bundle after the end of the year so if you would like them don't hesitate and take advantage of the 10% saving that comes with the purchase of a bundle.

I hope you have enjoyed this project, I would love you to leave a comment below.

Hope you have a crafty weekend.

Susan xx
