Lasting Lily - stepped up

Here are the details for our second project this week using Lasting Lily and the coordinating Lily Framelits.

One of my team members sent me a message last week pleading with me to make a version of a card she had seen on the Stampin' Up! Demo website.

I decided to make a couple of tweaks and as I am still on my mission to use Lemon Lime Twist, I used that as the first layer for my card.

As with the first project using Lasting Lily, we used the Subtle TIEF to emboss the LLT layer.

We stamped our flowers and cut them out with the matching framelits.

This is where the magic happens ...

We used watercolour pencils to add more depth and definition to the flowers using Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight.

Using flicking motions, we added upwards strokes in Calypso Coral to the petals and then went over these flicks with Daffodil Delight.  This really makes the colours pop.  You get different results every time as you can vary the intensity of the pencils - love it!

Here are some of the cards that were made on Monday.

Assembling the card ...

A mini Dimensional was placed towards the top of each lily and a blob of glue at the bottom.

The stems were adhered with a Dimensional at the top and again, Tombow on the ends.

The extra leaves and stems are then able to be tucked behind the lilies using a combination of Dimensionals and Tombow to complete the arrangement.

The panel was then adhered to the card from using Dimensionals.

One of my crafty ladies said she was not going to bother with the Lily Framelits as she would be happy to fussy cut the images.  However, when she saw the sentiment dies she changed her mind!

We added a piece of pearlised doily and some ribbon before adding the sentiment.

The inside of the card (and the envelope) were stamped to coordinate as usual using the smaller flower and stem.

My favourite thing about this project is the leaves and lilies hanging over the edge of the white panel.

Here is the completed card and envelope.

During the week I get the chance to remake my prpjects several times.  This week my project has evolved and changed slightly every time I made it.

I think the version on the right is my favourite - I trimmed the stems level with the bottom of the card instead of the panel on the middle version.

After sharing my idea to remove the LLT background the majority of ladies who joined me this week did the same and all of them chose not to use the doily too!

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week for some crafty fun.  I will post details of the projects for next week as soon as I have made them!

I'm back again tomorrow as I am hopping with Stamp 'N Hop with an Easter project featuring ducks and chocolate!
