Painted Seasons - stepped up

Here are the details for our second project this week using Painted Seasons - a stamp set and DSP bundle that can be yours free with a qualifying order until the end of March.

The inspiration for this project came from the very talented Narelle Farrugia who is a member of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team.  I made a couple of changes/tweaks of my own along the way.  You can have a look at Narelle's project HERE.

A background panel of Whisper White has been embossed with the Subtle TIEF folder and, as with our first project this week, a strip of DSP with a 1cm fold back has been adhered across the front.

A piece of ribbon has been wrapped around the front, adhered on the reverse and then the panel was adhered to the card front with dimensionals.  The bow was added as a finishing touch, adhered with a rolled up mini glue dot.

We then stamped an assortment of flowers and leaves and used the coordinating Four Seasons Framelits to cut them out.

When I was stamping out these lovely images I realised my ink pads were a little too juicy and I was losing some of the detail on the flowers.

Top Tip
I use the back of a plastic spoon to move/spread the ink deeper into the ink pad.  This has the benefit of not wasting ink and, when you close the ink pad after your crafty session the ink adjusts itself (so to speak) to how it was before.

You can see the difference this makes below using Grapefruit Grove and Call Me Clover ink.

The leaves were curled and shaped with the end of a poky tool to add dimension before arranging.

A simple sentiment (Botanical Bliss), stamped in Early Espresso ink onto a die cut circle was tucked into the arrangement as a finishing touch.

I got a bit carried away with the inside of this card, stamping lots of  overlapping flowers - I also did the same down the left hand side of the envelope.

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week for some crafty fun and to Narelle for providing the inspiration for this project.  Next week we will be using a stamp set called Incredible Like You.

If you love this versatile, all year round stamp set as much as I do, I would urge you to place your order asap.  Painted Seasons is only available until the end of March and whilst supplies last.

I'm back tomorrow with another Joy Of Sets Challenge blog hop - the theme is Easter, hope you will hop along with us!

Have a crafty weekend!

Susan xx
