Poppy Moments - stepped up

Here are the details for our final project this week using the Poppy Moments Dies.  The inspiration for this project has been at the top of my facebook page since January so I thought it time I shared this project with my crafty ladies.

Here is the card we made.

To create the Poppy Moments Card
Thick ww 29 cm x 10.5 scored at 14.5 cm
Smoky Slate 10 cm x 14 cm
Old Olive Card and Real Red pieces.
Small piece of Peaceful Poppies DSP (I used pieces left from another project).

Cut the trellis from the Smoky Slate twice as shown to create a background panel.

To create the poppies
I cut the outline detail for each poppy from Real Red card.  For the base layer I used a scrap of DSP.  One of the papers has a faded red background that is perfect for creating flowers with a variation in colour.  I adhered the layers together with tiny dabs of Tombow.

The centre of each flower has been adhered with black mini dimensionals.  The larger flower uses two different die cut elements because I don't like the smiley face on the larger one!

I also die cut a leaf and a stem from Old Olive card.

To assemble the card
I used dimensionals (lots of them) to adhere the Smoky Slate layer to the card base and also to adhere the poppies.

I curled and shaped the stem and the leaf and adhered with Tombow on the end of each stem so I could tuck them underneath the poppies.

The sentiment is from a stamp set called Label Me Bold and has been stamped onto a scrap of card using Real Red ink.  It has been trimmed and adhered with dimensionals.  The sentiments in this set are so versatile, they can be trimmed in so many ways and you can also separate the words for a different look too.  I also added three back sequins in a 'triangle' to draw the eye to the stunning poppies.

Here is the completed card and envelope.  I stamped a single poppy image on the inside of the card and the envelope.

I made a slightly different version of this project this afternoon - can't decide which I like best!

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week for some crafty fun, these colour poppy cards proved very popular.  Jean will be sending her card to her grand daughter in law who is called Poppy!  Next week we will be using be using items from the Best Dressed Suite to make two chic projects.

I'm back tomorrow hopping with around with Stamp 'N Hop.

Have a crafty weekend.
