Daisy Lane - Ink Stamp Share

Hello and welcome to another Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop!  This month I will be using a firm favourite stamp set of mine called Daisy Lane!

Craftyduckydoodah, Stampin' Up, Daisy Lane, Ink Stamp Share,

If you are starting here with me at Craftyducky HQ or have hopped over from Joanna Barnes, welcome - this month we have a sketch challenge to share with you.

Craftyduckydoodah, Stampin' Up, Daisy Lane, Ink Stamp Share,

I do love a sketch challenge and I am choosing to take this sketch very literally!  Sketches are also useful when you are short of time (like me!) or are stuck in a crafty rut and have lost your crafting mojo.

Daisy Lane is a real favourite of mine as I said, I have used it a lot and, I was delighted to discover that it will be with us still in the upcoming Annual Catalogue.

Craftyduckydoodah, Stampin' Up, Daisy Lane, Ink Stamp Share,

Here is my project:
My project uses several brand new items that will be available from the 3rd May when the 2021 - 2022 Annual Catalogue launches.

The colours I used:

I am loving the new In Colours - there is only one that I haven't used for my project!

You will need:

21 cm  14.5 cm Polished Pink - scored at 10.5 cm

10 cm x 14 cm Basic White Thick (BWT)

10 cm x 14 cm BW (for the insert)

14 cm x 4 cm strip of DSP

1 cm x 14 cm strip of DSP

5 cm strip BWT

5 cm strip Polished Pink

1 cm strip of BWT

16.2 cm piece of DSP (for the envelope flap)

The background:

Adhere the piece of DSP (4 cm x 14 cm) across the bottom of the BWT panel using Tombow.  Cut a length of this gorgeous new ribbon and, using double side tape adhere on the back of the panel.  Adhere to the card front using dimensionals.

Craftyduckydoodah, Stampin' Up, Daisy Lane, Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop,

This lovely piece DSP features a new In Colour called Soft Succulent.  It is from a new suite called Hand-Penned that will be available very soon!  I have used both pieces I received as part of my pre order already and I need more of this asap!  Soft Succulent is such a lovely colour isn't it?

The stamping/punching:

I stamped two large daisies onto BWT card using Polished Pink ink and then punched out with the coordinating punch.  I also stamped another partial flower using Pale Papaya ink.  If you have an 1/2" punch use this for the centre of the flower.  You could also use a die or fussy cut the centre too.

I used the Banner Triple Punch with the two 5 cm strips of card.

Decisions:
Ok, I freely admit that I am a true Libran - I find it tricky to make decisions!  I just wanted to share two images with you ...

When it came to assembling the banner element of the sketch ...

Basic White on top?

Craftyduckydoodah, Stampin' Up, Daisy Lane, Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop,

Or Polished Pink?

Craftyduckydoodah, Stampin' Up, Daisy Lane, Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop,

As you can see I went with Polished Pink option.  The other version looked to me, a bit washed out.  Adhere the two pieces together using Tombow and then trim to 9 cm.

To assemble:
Adhere the banner piece to the front of the card using dimensionals.  Curl and shape the petals of the flowers and adhere using a dab of Tombow.  I offset the petals for a fuller look.

Adhere the centre of the flower with a dimensional and then adhere the flower to the banner with Tombow.

The sentiment and finishing touches:

I used another new colour, Evening Evergreen to stamp the sentiment onto a 1 cm strip of BWT.  Trim and adhere to the card front using dimensionals.

Craftyduckydoodah, Stampin' Up, Daisy Lane, Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop,

As a finishing touch and to complete the sketch challenge, I added three of these stunning new In Colour Jewels in Soft Succulent just above the ribbon.  These new jewels are so, so pretty and I need more of these too!

The inside/envelope:

Adhere the 1 cm strip of DSP to the bottom of the remaining BW panel using Tombow.  Adhere the panel to the inside of the card using double sided tape.

Craftyduckydoodah, Stampin' Up, Daisy Lane, Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop,

I used the other piece of DSP to cover the envelope flap for a coordinated look.  I adhered it with Tombow and then trimmed from the back for a neat finish.

The completed card:

This is such a pretty layout and I love it.  I can see me using this one a lot, many colours and images would work with this sketch wouldn't they and,of course, you could always change the orientation of the card too for a different look.

Craftyduckydoodah, Stampin' Up, Daisy Lane, Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop,

Thanks for hopping with us today, I hope you enjoyed my interpretation of the sketch?  (I would love you to leave a comment below to let me know what you think of my project)!  Next up is Deb Naylor who has another take on the sketch challenge to share.  If you get lost along the way, a list of participants can be found below.

Thank you so much for looking at my Blog today.  Unfortunately I am no longer a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  SU regulations are very strict; I have to wait 3 whole months before I can rejoin again.

If you need to order any supplies, just let me know and I will put you in touch with my crafty friend who kindly agreed to look after my lovely customers until I can become a demonstrator again.

If you would like a copy of either of the current Annual Catalogue or the current Mini Catalogue let me know and I will arrange for one to be popped in the post for you.  The new Annual Catalogue will also be available soon, let me know if you would like my friend to send you a copy.
