Incredible Like You - stepped up

Here are the details for our final project this week using a stamp set called Incredible Like You.

We stamped the sentiment onto a die cut stitched edge oval and then used other stamps to add extra detail/colour to the bottom edge.  The oval was adhered onto a scalloped edged oval in Night of Navy.

We used a simple masking technique to stamp borders along two edges of a Whisper White panel that measures 5mm smaller than the card base.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Incredible Like You, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

This gorgeous flower was stamped first in Daffodil Delight and then the detail has been added with Calypso Coral ink and then fussy cut out.

A piece of gingham ribbon was wrapped around the panel and then we tied a simple knot.  The panel was adhered with dimensionals.

Top Tip

You might have noticed that there is no stem for the flower head in this stamp set.  I used the small sprig image to create one.

Stamp image twice, aligning the stem in the middle.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Incredible Like You, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Stamp a single leaf on two of the stems.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Incredible Like You, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Fussy cut - don't worry about trimming the top too neatly as it will be covered by the flower!

I placed a mini dimensional behind each leaf and tucked the end of the stem behind the ribbon.  Another dimensional was used to adhere the flower.

We also stamped a decorative border on the inside of the card and the envelope.

Here is the completed card and envelope.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Incredible Like You, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Thanks to everyone who has joined me this week.  I just love this colour combo - very Spring like I think.  Incredible Like You is a very versatile stamp set and is great for creating backgrounds.  I hope I have shown that Incredible Like You can be used for much more than the project kit.

I have a very busy weekend coming up as I am going to Leeds to visit my son and to get a much needed hair cut.  I will post details of the projects for next week as soon as I design them - as I often say, something will present itself!

Have a crafty weekend.

Incredible Like You - quick & simple

Here are the details for our first project this week using a stamp set called Incredible Like You.

I love the detail you can achieve from two step stamping; the flowers and the stems in this stamp set are just stunning.  The flower below has been stamped with a single colour ink but we will be using two different colours for our second project this week.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Incredible Like You, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

The lined stamp in this stamp set is a firm favourite with me - its so useful.  For this project it was stamped across a panel of card and then we stamped two of the larger flowers at opposite 'corners'.  The other stamps in this set were then used to fill the two remaining 'corners' of the panel.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Incredible Like You, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

The sentiment was stamped and then punched out with the 2" circle punch and adhered onto a 2 1/4" punched circle in Daffodil Delight.  I used the smaller sprig and flowers to add some more colour around the edges of the circle.

The butterfly, well, I had a mucky splodge ... so I covered it!

I added some jewels along the body of the butterfly for a bit of sparkle.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Incredible Like You, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I stamped along the edge of the inside of the card using the stems, sprigs and flower heads.  I also decorated the envelope flap in the same way.

Here is the completed card and envelope.  There is something about blue and yellow that is so striking don't you think?

Incredible Like You - for Coffee & Cards

This week we will be using a stamp set called Incredible Like you to make two bold and colourful cards.

It is possible that you might have overlooked this stamp set on page 21 of the Spring / Summer Catalogue which would be a shame as it is such a versatile stamp set.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Incredible Like You, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Incredible Like You was designed to coordinate with the Incredible Like You Project Kit but it has much, much more potential that that!

As soon as I saw Incredible Like You it reminded me of one of my earlier favourite Stampin' Up! stamp sets - Painted Petals.  I think it must be the striped border stamp ...

It featured on several of the earlier posts on my blog from 2015 - which you can find HERE.

This week we will be doing lots of stamping, punching, die cutting, fussy cutting (just one flower) and using a simple masking technique.

Here are the colours we will be using - just perfect for Spring don't you think?

These are the projects we will be making.  I am looking forward to lots of lovely variations from my crafty ladies this week - I know they are going to have some fun with these images!

Best Bunny for the Joy of Sets Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another Joy Of Sets Challenge Blog Hop.  We are a group of crafters who love to share our love of papercrafting.  My name is Susan aka Craftyduckydoodah! - I live in beautiful Godmanchester near Cambridge, UK.  I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop around with us.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Joy of Sets Challenge Blog Hop, Easter, Best Bunny, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

This month our theme is 3d Easter projects.

This inspiration for my project this month came from a workshop I did recently for a group of local children.

We made a selection of Spring/Easter decorations from fun foam.  My favourite was this handsome chappy made out of soft foam pieces and a pipe cleaner!

Best Bunny, Craftyduckydoodah!, Easter, Joy of Sets Challenge Blog Hop, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Easter home decor project,

I challenged myself to recreate the bunny/carrot using my Stampin' Up! supplies.

Using a selection of circle punches (see below for sizes), and Pumpkin Pie card stock I got to work.

Best Bunny, Craftyduckydoodah!, Easter, Joy of Sets Challenge Blog Hop, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Easter home decor project,

I knew I needed to punch holes in the centre of the circles but was not sure how to get the hole in the middle.

Using a retired hole punch I punched holes in the card and then centred the circle punch around it.  This way I had half a chance of getting the hole somewhere near the middle!

I used the heavyweight card from the back of the Designer Series Paper packs to form a 'sandwich' between the Pumpkin Pie card stock.

I punched six circles with holes in and then using the same punches cut another six from Pumpkin Pie and six from the heavyweight card.  I used a large flower punch (sadly retired) to create the carrot top, cutting four of them as the backing card proved too tough for the flower punch to cope with.

Best Bunny, Craftyduckydoodah!, Easter, Joy of Sets Challenge Blog Hop, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Easter home decor project,

I placed the circle with the hole as a sandwich with another Pumpkin Pie and a heavyweight card circle in the centre and then punched through the centre hole so that the holes lined up.

Using Tombow, I adhered a Pumpkin Pie circle to each side of the corresponding heavyweight circle.

I stamped a front and back for the bunny and added some colour with Stampin' Blends.

Best Bunny, Craftyduckydoodah!, Easter, Joy of Sets Challenge Blog Hop, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Easter home decor project,

Now I was ready to assemble my bunny/carrot.  I used some ribbon; this Fresh Fig ribbon is 'flat' and stopped the circles from moving around too much whilst allowing me to space them out.  It was much easier using a pipe cleaner on my original project!

Best Bunny, Craftyduckydoodah!, Easter, Joy of Sets Challenge Blog Hop, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Easter home decor project,

I made a loop with the end of the ribbon, stapling together the ends before sandwiching between the two heads with several glue dots.

I will be making lots of these little bunny carrots to hang on my Easter tree this year.

Stampers By The Dozen 03/19

Hello and welcome to the March Stampers By The Dozen blog hop!  If you are joining from Judi or starting here with me, welcome, enjoy hoping along with us - I hope you find lots of inspiration!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Stampers By The Dozen, Wonderful Romance, Wonderful Floral Framelits, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

This month our theme is a challenge.

Step It Up - take a simple/basic card design and step it up to the next level using embellishments, extra layers, embossing etc

I realised as I was writing this post that I had probably gone about this challenge in completely the wrong way!  I probably should have used a project I already had but being me, I created two projects - hey ho!

Here is my first project - a cute 4 x 4" card.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampers By The Dozen, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Wonderful Floral Framelits, Wonderful Romance,

I stamped this beautiful floral image from Wonderful Romance and coloured using the Stampin' Blends.  I did add a background of Balmy Blue, a ribbon and some jewels but did not use a single Dimensional!  #simplestamping

So, on to my stepped up project; I added an embossing folder, framelits, an additional embellishment and lots of dimensionals!

I embossed a panel of Balmy Blue with the Subtle TIEF and added to my card blank.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampers By The Dozen, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Wonderful Floral Framelits, Wonderful Romance,

I then used a lovely, detailed border framelit to create another panel from Whisper White card stock and adhered to the card with Dimensionals.

I used the same floral image as for my first project but this time I used the coordinating framelit before colouring with the Stampin' Blends.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampers By The Dozen, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Wonderful Floral Framelits, Wonderful Romance,

Top Top
The stems on these flowers are very delicate and can be a bit tricky to colour.  I used a Stampin' Write Marker in Mossy Meadow to colour the stems on the image above.  Much neater and less chance of making a mess!

I used another framelit to create a panel for the sentiment and added a Floral Romance Seal with some ribbon behind for an extra pop of colour.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampers By The Dozen, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Wonderful Floral Framelits, Wonderful Romance,

Here is my stepped up project - lots of lovely dimension!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampers By The Dozen, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Wonderful Floral Framelits, Wonderful Romance,

I also created a decorative insert for my card.  I embossed a panel of Balmy Blue with the Subtle TIEF and added a Whisper White layer that had a part of the floral image stamped in the bottom corner.  I coloured the image with the Stampin' Blends and then, I must have been feeling rather extravagant as I added two jewels to the flowers!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampers By The Dozen, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Wonderful Floral Framelits, Wonderful Romance,

Here are both my projects.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampers By The Dozen, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Wonderful Floral Framelits, Wonderful Romance,

I really enjoyed our challenge this month.  I always read any comments left on my blog and would love to know what you think of my projects.

Next up is Tricia who I am sure has something wonderful to share with you.

Details of the products I used to create these projects can be found below.  The Wonderful Romance stamps and framelits are available as a bundle = a 10% saving.  Even better, if you order before the end of March you will also be able to choose a FREE Sale-A-Bration item too!  I really hope Wonderful Romance will be in the new Annual Catalogue ...

Thanks for hopping along with us again.

Painted Seasons - stepped up

Here are the details for our second project this week using Painted Seasons - a stamp set and DSP bundle that can be yours free with a qualifying order until the end of March.

The inspiration for this project came from the very talented Narelle Farrugia who is a member of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team.  I made a couple of changes/tweaks of my own along the way.  You can have a look at Narelle's project HERE.

A background panel of Whisper White has been embossed with the Subtle TIEF folder and, as with our first project this week, a strip of DSP with a 1cm fold back has been adhered across the front.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Painted Seasons, Four Seasons Framelits, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

A piece of ribbon has been wrapped around the front, adhered on the reverse and then the panel was adhered to the card front with dimensionals.  The bow was added as a finishing touch, adhered with a rolled up mini glue dot.

We then stamped an assortment of flowers and leaves and used the coordinating Four Seasons Framelits to cut them out.

When I was stamping out these lovely images I realised my ink pads were a little too juicy and I was losing some of the detail on the flowers.

Top Tip
I use the back of a plastic spoon to move/spread the ink deeper into the ink pad.  This has the benefit of not wasting ink and, when you close the ink pad after your crafty session the ink adjusts itself (so to speak) to how it was before.

You can see the difference this makes below using Grapefruit Grove and Call Me Clover ink.

The leaves were curled and shaped with the end of a poky tool to add dimension before arranging.

A simple sentiment (Botanical Bliss), stamped in Early Espresso ink onto a die cut circle was tucked into the arrangement as a finishing touch.

The leaves were curled and shaped with the end of a poky tool to add dimension before arranging.

I got a bit carried away with the inside of this card, stamping lots of  overlapping flowers - I also did the same down the left hand side of the envelope.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Painted Seasons, Four Seasons Framelits, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Here is the completed card and envelope.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Painted Seasons, Four Seasons Framelits, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week for some crafty fun and to Narelle for providing the inspiration for this project.  Next week we will be using a stamp set called Incredible Like You.

If you love this versatile, all year round stamp set as much as I do, I would urge you to place your order asap.  Painted Seasons is only available until the end of March and whilst supplies last.

I'm back tomorrow with another Joy Of Sets Challenge blog hop - the theme is Easter, hope you will hop along with us!

Have a crafty weekend!
