Honey Bee - Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another Stampers Showcase Blog Hop.  If you are starting here with me or hopping over from Dana Sullivan in the USA, we have lots of lovely projects to inspire you this month.

This month our theme is 'Happy Birthday'.  I have been tidying up my craft room recently and come to the conclusion I have too many bits and pieces that I have been saving to use on projects.  Does anyone else do this?  I hope I'm not the only one!  So, I'm on a mission to use them up.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Honey Bee, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Hopping Around The World, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Spring / Summer 2020,

I decided to use of some of the items in this little bag along with the Honey Bee Bundle for my project.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Honey Bee, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Hopping Around The World, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Spring / Summer 2020,

I have used the Honey Bee Bundle quite a lot hence the bag of leftovers.  In fact, it was one of the first bundles from the Spring/Summer catalogue I used for Coffee & Cards way back in January!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Honey Bee, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Hopping Around The World, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Spring / Summer 2020,

These are the colours I used for my project.

Here is my 'Happy Birthday' project.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Honey Bee, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Hopping Around The World, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Spring / Summer 2020

To create the Honey Bee card
21 cm x 14.5 cm scored at 10.5 cm ww thick
10 cm x 14 cm ww thick
Daffodil Delight card - small piece
WW thick for the bee and sentiment.
Scrap of Designer Series Paper

To create the background
I used the lovely script image that can be found in a stamp set called Very Versailles - the stamp is so good you can read the writing! I stamped the script in the bottom right hand corner of the ww panel with Daffodil Delight ink and then adhered the strip of DSP across the front with Tombow. The ribbon has been adhered on the back with double sided tape.

I then adhered the panel to the card base with dimensionals.

To create the die cut elements
I stamped the large bee with Memento ink and cut out with the coordinating die.  I used the dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend to colour the body.

I cut out a piece of the honeycomb from Daffodil Delight card.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Honey Bee, Hopping Around The World, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

To Assemble the Honey Bee card
Place the honeycomb on the card and then put dimensionals on the back of the bee and adhere.  The dimensionals will also adhere the honeycomb!

I used a sentiment from a stamp set called Label Me Bold.

Top Tip
The photo above shows the difference between using Stazon or Memento ink - I used Stazon for my card!

I trimmed the sentiment and adhered with mini dimensionals.

A trio of sparkly jewels provided a finishing touch.

I also stamped on the inside of the card and the envelope.  Perhaps I stamped a little more than usual because of an inky splodge - shhhh!

Here is the completed card and envelope.

I did in fact manage to use just two pieces from my little bag of leftovers; the DSP strip and the ribbon which I untied!

Next up is Stacey Marsh from the UK - click the image below to see her project.

Thanks for hopping along with us, I hope that wherever you are that you stay safe and well.

Ornate Garden Suite - Early Release

Hello, if you have seen my recent facebook post you will know that Mr Brown has recently brought me lots of new goodies - the Ornate Garden Suite!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Ornate Garden Suite Early Release, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

The Ornate Garden Suite will be in the upcoming 2020 - 2021 Annual Catalogue but Stampin' Up! have released it early!!!

There are two different stamp and die bundles in this suite along with a 3D embossing folder, stunning DSP, ribbons and metallic gems, not shown above but you might spot them below.

Available for Demonstrators to order until the 31st March and then customers can order from the 1st March - how brilliant is that?

Craftyduckydoodah!, Ornate Garden Suite Early Release, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Even more exciting, to me at least, is the knowledge that one of the colours shown on this stunning DSP is called Bumble Bee.  This means that it will be one of the new In-Colours!

So with all these new goodies it seemed only fair that I share some ideas of how to use them with you.

Here is a sneaky peak at the projects I made.  I'm not sure what the card fold on the right is called but it is clever!

I will share details of my projects next week; I have my usual quick & simple and stepped up projects and another for a Blog Hop I am joining on Saturday to share with you.

I hope everyone is safe and well wherever you are.

Take care and stay safe.

Poppy Moments Dies - Hopping Around The World

Hello and welcome to another Hopping Around The World Blog Hop!  This month our theme is flowers - I decided to use the Poppy Moments Dies for my project.

When I say I decided to use - I meant eventually decided to use!  I have many stamp sets with flowers and as I sat pondering I really could not decide which to use so I had a rethink.  Eventually, I decided I would not use stamps for the flowers of this challenge just these fabulous dies.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Poppy Moments Dies, Label Me Bold, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Hopping Around The World, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Spring / Summer 2020,

Here are the colours I used for my project.

Here is my project - I'm not sure what this technique is called - perhaps an inlaid die cut technique?

Craftyduckydoodah!, Poppy Moments Dies, Label Me Bold, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Hopping Around The World, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Spring / Summer 2020,

To create the Poppy Moments card

21 cm x 14.5 cm scored at 10.5 cm ww thick card
10 cm x 14 cm Basic Black card
9.9 cm x 13.9 cm ww thick card
Pieces of thick ww, Basic Black, Calypso Coral and Old Olive for the die cut elements.

To create the inlaid die cut panel
Use an assortment of dies on the black card piece. I deliberately placed some of the dies over the edge of the card.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Hopping Around The World, Label Me Bold, Poppy Moments Dies, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Adhere the piece of thick ww card to the back of the die cut panel using Tombow.  You could, if you prefer adhere straight to the card base and miss this step out (I like to add dimension to my projects).

Craftyduckydoodah!, Hopping Around The World, Label Me Bold, Poppy Moments Dies, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Cut a selection of pieces from the coloured card and adhere in the spaces.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Hopping Around The World, Label Me Bold, Poppy Moments Dies, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Top Tip
I found it easier to apply dabs of Tombow to the card base rather than the die cut pieces.

Turn the panel over and trim off any overhanging pieces.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Hopping Around The World, Label Me Bold, Poppy Moments Dies, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

I used dimensionals to adhere the panel to the card base.  I used a stamp set called Label Me Bold for the sentiment.  I used Calypso Coral ink and trimmed each piece to leave a tiny white border.  I used mini dimensionals to adhere to the front of the card.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Hopping Around The World, Label Me Bold, Poppy Moments Dies, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

I had a couple of die cut pieces left over so, I decorated the inside with them.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Hopping Around The World, Label Me Bold, Poppy Moments Dies, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Here is the completed card.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Hopping Around The World, Label Me Bold, Poppy Moments Dies, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

This inlaid die cutting technique is a lot of fun; just think of all the die sets you have and think about using them in this way.  If you have children at home, perhaps this might be a good project for them to try too?

Next up is Maureen Rauchfuss from the USA who I am sure has a great project to share with us.

Botanical Prints - stepped up

Hello, as promised here is another idea for you using the Botanical Prints Product Medley.

Here are the colours I used for my project.

I think this is such a springlike colour combination, bright and cheerful don't you?  The weather here in the UK is glorious at the moment, lots of lovely sunshine to cheers us up.  Here is the card I made.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Botanical Prints Medley, Subtle Embossing Folder, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Spring / Summer 2020,

To create the Botanical Prints card
21 cm x 14.5 cm scored at 10.5 cm
10 cm x 13 cm Smoky Slate
9.5 cm x 13 cm ww thick
You will also need small pieces of thick ww and Smoky Slate card for the die cut elements.

To create the die cut elements
I used a lovely border die that can be found the Painted Labels die set.  I cut two pieces from Smoky Slate.

Originally I had planned to use Balmy Blue but I changed my mind at the last minute!

Botanical Prints Medley, Craftyduckydoodah!, Spring / Summer 2020, Subtle Embossing Folder, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

I used Tombow to adhere the two pieces together, luckily I was able to find the spot where the pieces overlapped neatly that was just the right size for my project!

I stamped the little flower sprig in Smoky Slate ink, cut out with the coordinating die and coloured with Stampin' Blends.

Botanical Prints Medley, Craftyduckydoodah!, Spring / Summer 2020, Subtle Embossing Folder, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

I used the Painted Labels dies (again) and stamped the sentiment in Smoky Slate in.

To create the stamped panel
I used Smoky Slate ink to stamp a selection of images around the panel of thick ww card.

I then embossed the panel with the Subtle Embossing folder.  I love the effect that this folder creates - two very different sides for you to choose from too!

To assemble the card
Wrap a piece of ribbon** around the top of the ww panel, adhering on the reverse with double sided tape.

Adhere the ww panel to the Smoky Slate panel with Tombow - you will have a Smoky Slate border on each side only.  Adhere the panel to the card base with dimensionals.

The sentiment panel has been adhered with dimensionals and the die cut flower sprig with Tombow and dimensionals.

I tied a tiny bow and adhered to the ribbon border with a mini glue dot.

**Top Tip
I used a piece of ww crinkled seam binding for my project.  I coloured the ribbon with the dark Balmy Blue Stampin' Blend, such a pretty colour.

Botanical Prints Medley, Craftyduckydoodah!, Spring / Summer 2020, Subtle Embossing Folder, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

I also stamped the inside of the card and the envelope to coordinate.

Botanical Prints - quick & simple

Here are the details for my first project this week using items from the Botanical Prints Product Medley.

Here are the colours I used for my project.

I used colours that were in the piece of DSP I used.  These colours are right up my street - I really do think that Pretty Peacock is my favourite colour!

Here is the project I made.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Botanical Prints Medley, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

To create the Botanical Prints quick & simple project
21 cm x 14.5 cm scored at 10.5 cm Pretty Peacock
10 cm x 14 cm Smoky Slate
9.5 cm x 13.5 cm DSP
10 cm x 14 cm ww - for the inside
Pretty Peacock and thick ww pieces for the die cut elements

To create the die cut elements
I used the Painted Labels Dies to cut out two labels one  from Pretty Peacock and the other from thick ww.  The sentiment has been stamped on the ww one with Smoky Slate ink.

The berry sprig has also been stamped in Smoky Slate and cut out with the coordinating die.  I used Stampin' Blends to colour the berries.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Botanical Prints Medley, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I used the light Pretty Peacock pen around the outer part of the berry and then went over the whole thing with the Balmy Blue light pen.  This created a sort of blurry look that I quite like.

To assemble the card
Adhere the DSP to the Smoky Slate card and then adhere to the card base with dimensionals.

The Pretty Peacock label has been adhered with Tombow and the white label with dimensionals.

The decorative elements have been adhered with a combination of diemenstionals and Tombow.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Botanical Prints Medley, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

You may remember the little metallic bees that are included in this Product Medley - I was going to use one, I really was but it was the wrong colour for this project.  So I stamped one using Smoky Slate ink instead using the small bee that can be found in the Honey Bee bundle.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Botanical Prints Medley, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I also decorated the inside of the card and the flap of the envelope with an assortment of these lovely images stamped in Smoky Slate.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Botanical Prints Medley, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Here is the completed card and envelope.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Botanical Prints Medley, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Spring / Summer 2020, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I will have to come up with another project to use the little bees!  I have another project to share with you using a different colour scheme later this week.  Details of the products I used to create this card can be found below, don't forget if you order this product medley before the 31st March you can choose a free Sale-A-Bration item!

Stay safe and well.
