Rooted In Nature - stepped up

Here are the details for our second project this week using a stamp set called Rooted In Nature.  I have to say that I LOVE this card - white on white projects are just my thing I guess!

This project started with a panel of thick WW card 5mm smaller than the card base.

We used the branch image and stamped four times to create a background using second generation Smoky Slate ink.

We then used something new and wonderful!!  Delicata Ink in Celestial Copper - it certainly proved a big hit with my crafty ladies this week.

Hopefully you can see on the photo above just how rich and radiant this ink is - just like it has been embossed.

We then used the coordinating dies to cut the leaves out.  We used one of the embossing dies and some silver foil card stock to emboss and cut out a different leaf.  The white sprigs are from a die set called Frosted Bouquet.

The lovely sentiment which, I will be using a lot this year, is from a new stamp set called Playful Penguins.

The panel was then adhered to the card base with dimensionals.

The rest of the leaves have been adhered using a mix of Tombow and dimensionals.  A trio of jewels adds a bit more sparkle.

Here is the completed card and envelope.  The leaf branch has also been stamped on the envelope and the inside of the card.

Over the course of each week lucky me gets to make several of each project.  I have been doing daft/silly things recently (thanks Lyme Disease) but sometimes these turn into happy accidents.

On Tuesday I stamped on the wrong side of the WW panel so I decided to scuff the edges - I do love scuffed edges!  In fact, this turned out to be more popular than my original design.

I took things one step further and added some Platinum Stickles Glitter Glue around the edges for even more WOW factor.  Doesn't it look pretty?

Here are three versions of this project.  (This project has been used by my crafty ladies for a Birthday card and an Anniversary card too this week by using different sentiments).

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week.  I will share projects for next week sometime over the weekend.  Please note I will only be able to offer one session next week on Tuesday afternoon as I will be undergoing surgery to remove a fast growing lump from my breast.  Depending on how I feel, all will be back to normal the following week.

Have a crafty weekend.

Rooted In Nature - quick & simple

Here are the details for our first project this week using a stamp set called Rooted In Nature.

We used the Whisper White note cards for our project this week.  The tree stump has been stamped on the front of the card using second generation Smoky Slate ink.

I cut up a post it note to masks the image and then used the splodge from Beauty Abounds with Pool Party ink using a mix of first and second generation ink.  Although I covered most of the splatters with leaves you can just see some peaking out on the right of this photo.

Craftyduckydoodah, Rooted In Nature, Nature's Roots, Perennial Birthday, Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

We then stamped assorted leaves using first and second generation Smoky Slate ink and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

We used a sponge dauber to add extra colour using Pool Party and Bermuda Bay inks.

On some of the leaves I used the splatter stamp too.  The leaves were curled and shaped then arranged and adhered using Tombow and dimensionals.  We used the Frosted Bouquet dies to cut a sprig from Pool Party cardstock and adhered it with a dab of Tombow on the end of the stem.

The sentiment (Perennial Birthday) was stamped onto a 2.5cm strip of thick Whisper White card using Smoky Slate.  It was then adhered across the front of the card with dimensionals.

The inside of the card and the envelope have been stamped to coordinate.  The splodge image from Beauty Abounds has been stamped over the the leaf using Bermuda Bay ink.

I may just have got a bit carried away with the splodges, perhaps because I still miss Gorgeous Grunge!

Obviously, I can't decide which version I like best!  You will be able to choose which version you would like to make if you join me on Tuesday or Thursday afternoon. Or, perhaps you have an alternative idea/layout you would like to try out?

It Starts With Art - Stampers By The Dozen Second Anniversary Blog Hop! SBTD08/19

Hello and welcome to the second Anniversary Blog Hop with Stampers By The Dozen.  I can't believe I have been hopping with this group of lovely talented ladies for two years - how time flies when you are having fun!!

If you are joining me from Judi, or starting here with me, welcome - I'm sure you will find lots of inspiration as you hop along with us.

This month we were given carte blanche with a stampers choice!  I decided to make something for me to hang in my craft room using the It Starts With Art stamps and coordinating dies and other items from the Suite.  I suppose it was an obvious choice really!

This is a really useful bundle for people who just love to craft be it papercrafting, sewing or painting.  I decided to create a mix of different panels to fit into a RIBA frame from IKEA.

All stamped panels and die cut elements were made using thick Whisper White card and stamped in Memento ink.  Each panel was then mounted onto a slightly larger Basic Black piece of card.

I used a sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Follow You Art as a background.

I used various stamps and coordinating dies from It Starts With Art and another stamp set called Crafting Forever.

Craftyduckydoodah, It Starts With Art, Creatively Yours, Stampers By The Dozen 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop, Stampin Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I stamped lots of images and cut many die cut elements and just sat at my desk colouring images with the Stampin' Blends and generally having a lovely time! I used colours primarily from the DSP but went a bit off piste when I was colouring the paintbrush pot!

I then assembled each panel using a mix of Tombow and dimensionals to adhere the elements.

I used dimensionals to adhere the white pieces to the black background and then Tombow to adhere the panels to the DSP.

Here is my first panel.  I used the splodge stamp from Butterfly Gala to create a colourful background.

Craftyduckydoodah, It Starts With Art, Creatively Yours, Stampers By The Dozen 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop, Stampin Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

For my second panel I used this lovely sentiment.  I added Wink of Stella to each of the little bottles - I had to didn't I given the sentiment?  I used a scrap of DSP to give the bottles something to sit on.

For once I even managed to get a decent photograph of the sparkle!

Craftyduckydoodah, It Starts With Art, Creatively Yours, Stampers By The Dozen 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop, Stampin Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I really like the next panel; I might even make another one to put on my craft room door ...

I used the Hand Lettered Prose dies and Pacific Point card stock.

Craftyduckydoodah, It Starts With Art, Creatively Yours, Stampers By The Dozen 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop, Stampin Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

The next panel is a useful one - I have a friend who loves to sew; I will definitely be making a version of this panel to pop onto a card for her next month.  My favourite elements on this panel are the tiny die cut press studs cut from silver foil.

Craftyduckydoodah, It Starts With Art, Creatively Yours, Stampers By The Dozen 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop, Stampin Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

This next panel is my favourite - the sentiment says it all and needs no explanation!

Craftyduckydoodah, It Starts With Art, Creatively Yours, Stampers By The Dozen 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop, Stampin Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

For the final panel I used the cute pegs wrapped with Baker's Twine - I thought about adding faces might to each peg, something I may do later.

Craftyduckydoodah, It Starts With Art, Creatively Yours, Stampers By The Dozen 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop, Stampin Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Each of the panels would be a great card topper in their own right don't you think?

Here is the finished sampler.

Craftyduckydoodah, It Starts With Art, Creatively Yours, Stampers By The Dozen 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop, Stampin Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I confess as I am looking at my project that I am not entirely happy with the top row.  The gap between the two panels irritates me.  Any ideas/suggestion on how to fix it please leave a comment below!

All framed and ready to hang on the wall.

Craftyduckydoodah, It Starts With Art, Creatively Yours, Stampers By The Dozen 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop, Stampin Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

As I was writing this post I spotted something else - I forgot to colour the top of the little red bottle on the second panel.

I am currently being treated for Lyme Disease so I will put the blame on that I think - normal service will be resumed soon I hope!  I will obviously have to fix this too otherwise it will drive me nuts!

This is the first sampler I have made, thanks to some prompting by my good friend and fellow Demonstrator Zoe Tant.  I fear I may have a new addiction!

Next up is Tricia who I am sure has something wonderful to share with you.

Details of the products I used for this project can be found below, thanks for hopping along with us.

Happy crafting!

Floral Essence - stepped up

Hello, here are the details for our final project this week using Floral Essence.

We created a background panel for our card using a piece of thick Whisper White cut 5mm smaller than the base.

We used Seaside Spray ink and stamped the medium and small flowers from this stamp set around the edges.

The panel was then embossed with the Scripty embossing folder.  We wrapped two pieces of linen thread around the panel and then adhered to the card base with dimensionals.

The first project I made I did not emboss the panel - the idea just popped into my head whilst I was taking my photographs so, I made another card!

Craftyduckydoodah, Floral Essence, Scripty Embossing Folder, Stampin' Up! Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store

It does make a difference to the look of the finished card.  The stamped flowers  on the right  look slightly darker than the embossed ones.

We used my favourite Stitched Rectangle dies to cut out two panels using Seaside Spray and Whisper White card stock.

We used a sentiment from Forever Lovely, stamped with Crumb Cake ink and also stamped three leaves in the bottom corner of the white rectangle with the same ink.

We stamped a medium and a small flower onto thick card and fussy cut them out.  A centre has been stamped in Crumb Cake on the smaller flower.  The flowers were layered up with dimensionals.

We also stamped three leaves in Crumb Cake and punched them out. The leaves have been curled and shaped and adhered with a dab of Tombow on the end of each stem.

We used the medium and small flowers again to stamp a border on the inside of the card and down the side of the envelope - so pretty!

Craftyduckydoodah, Floral Essence, Scripty Embossing Folder, Stampin' Up! Susan Simpson UK Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

As I mentioned above, I made two versions of this project and, as ever, can't decide which I like best!  Only one of my crafty ladies this week chose not to emboss her background panel.

I knew when I was designing this project that the background reminded me of something - figured out it was, a blouse I bought a few years ago from Phase Eight.  Just goes to show, inspiration is all around us, in this case quite literally!!

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week.  I was delighted this afternoon to be joined by one of my favourite crafty ladies from a local care home.  She came with her daughter to craft at my home.  We had scones, fresh strawberries and clotted cream.  Pat came up with a brilliant idea; she adhered the leaves between the petal of her flower.  Why did I not think of that?  It looks brilliant!!

I will share details of the projects for next week on Sunday - I'm not sure what we will be doing at the moment but as ever, something will present itself!

I'm back at the weekend for a rather special Blog Hop - can you believe I have been hopping every month (never missed one) with Stampers By The Dozen for two years?  I have a rather special project to share with you that you won't want to miss!!

Have a crafty weekend!

Floral Essence - quick & simple

Here are the details for our first project this week using a stamp set and coordinating punch called Floral Essence.

We used the lovely Scripty Embossing Folder to create a background for our card using Seaside Spray cardstock.

We then created a flower using Seaside Spray ink - stamping the flower and the leaf image twice before punching with the coordinating punches.

The centre of the flower was created with Seaside Spray card and two dies from the Magnolia Memory dies.

The petals and the centres have been curled and shaped before being assembled using Tombow and dimensionals.

One of the In-Colour Faceted Dots has been placed in the centre.

The leaves were also curled and shaped before being adhered with Tombow using a tiny dab at the end of the stems to create lots of dimension.

Craftyduckydoodah, Floral Essence, Stampin' Up! Susan Simpson Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Scripty Embossing Folder, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

A piece of Seaside Scalloped Linen Ribbon was adhered around the embossed panel which was adhered to the note card with Tombow.

A simple sentiment, from Butterfly Gala (still on my desk from last week), stamped onto a Stitched Rectangle frame  finishes of this little note card.

The inside of the card has been stamped with the flower and also the flap on the envelope.  After stamping the first image, re ink and then stamp again offsetting to create a complete flower.

At Coffee & Cards today I decided to change my card a little.

I embossed a panel of Whisper White card instead and left off the sentiment.

Doesn't it look different?
