Stampin' Up! Dashing Deer for Coffee & Cards

Hello, this week for Coffee & Cards we are doing something special!  We will be using a stamp and framelit bundle called Dashing Deer to make a bendy card!  I've not made one of these for ages - I had forgotten how much much they are; having different layers to the front allows more creative opportunity!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Dashing Deer, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Bendy Cards,

We will also be using stamps and dies from a few other bundles too so you will be able to customise your project using supplies available.

We will be using a simple but stunning colour palette with lots of sparkle and glitter.

We will be stamping, die cutting, and sponging with the Frost White Shimmer Paint.

Here is the card we will be making - the photo doesn't do this card justice; the shimmer paint is tricky to photograph!  Trust me there is even enough sparkle and shimmer on this card for Louise!  You could if you wanted to, add a tea light inside one of the bends for extra wow factor ...

Bendy Cards, Craftyduckydoodah!, Dashing Deer, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Winter Woods,

The detail on this beautiful stylised deer is just stunning and, topped with some Frost White Shimmer paint ... you will love it!

Stampin' Up! Stampers By The Dozen 11/18

Hello and welcome to another Stampers By The Dozen Blog Hop.  This month our challenge was to create a Christmas home decor or 3d item and was chosen by Laura.

If you are starting here with me, or hopping on from Judi and her lovely project, welcome - I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop along with us.

As soon as I saw the Sprig punch on page 29 of the Autumn / Winter Catalogue an idea popped into my mind.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Mistletoe Season, Stampers By The Dozen, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Under the image of the punch in the catalogue the description tell you that 'you can use a single punched piece as an accent, or punch multiple sprigs to create a wreath'.  So I did!

There are many versions of wreaths made with the Sprig Punch on Pinterest and several useful tutorials on YouTube too.

The colours I chose for my wreath are a favourite combo of mine.

I used a sheet of hardboard - you know the pieces you get in the DSP packs?  One of those - they are really useful so I always keep them.  I drew around a dish and then for the inner circle I drew around a roll of tape.

I used a single A4 sheet of each colour - if you punch along the long edge you can get 10 punched sprigs (sometimes 11 if you are careful).  In total at least 40 sprigs from each sheet which is just about the number you need.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Mistletoe Season, Stampers By The Dozen, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Top Tip
I used Tombow to adhere all the springs to my wreath.  I squeezed a puddle of glue onto an old saucer and just dabbed the end of the sprig in the glue and stuck to the wreath.  Much quicker and less messy this way!

Carefully lay each piece around the wreath - three in each row is just right.  I tried not to think about the colours I was using - I went for a random look!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Mistletoe Season, Stampers By The Dozen, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Once you have filled the wreath you can add the lights.  I adhered the end on the back with some washi tape.  Turning the lights on at this point gives you a better idea of how your wreath will look.

Top Tip
I used one of my favourite RIBA frames from IKEA.  The back panel of the frame has one corner removed which is just perfect for adding lights.

Make sure your wire comes out in the right corner!

Now you can have some fun choosing which punched/die cut shapes you want to decorate the wreath with.

I punched some sprigs using the Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper in Copper and Merry Merlot.  I then cut some leaves and branches using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits but you could use any others that you may have.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Mistletoe Season, Stampers By The Dozen, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I tied a bow with the gorgeous Merry Merlot/Copper reversible ribbon as a finishing touch.

I chose a piece of Wood Textures DSP as the 6" x 6" piece was just the right size for the aperture on the frame.  There are lots to choose from in this paper stack you will will be able to choose something to coordinate with most colour schemes.

No matter how carefully you wrap the lights around the wreath it is inevitable that you will have some lights on the back.  Several of my crafty ladies tried really hard not to do this!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Mistletoe Season, Stampers By The Dozen, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Top Tip
I have one final tip for you ...  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere my wreath to the mount.  So as not to waste the lights on the back of the wreath I 'double padded'.  Doing this lifts the wreath from the mount so that the lights shine through from the back.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Mistletoe Season, Stampers By The Dozen, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Here is my finished wreath, framed and lit up - I love it!!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Mistletoe Season, Stampers By The Dozen, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

To date I have run three workshops to make this project (I have another planned for next week) - each wreath was different and, they all looked amazing; especially when the lights are on!

Here are a few of them ...

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Mistletoe Season, Stampers By The Dozen, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I hope you enjoyed my project - I would love you to leave a comment below to let me know what you think of it.

If you like the look of this project why not give it a go?  You won't regret it!  I can see this project made in soft pinks and greens for the Spring or, perhaps you could add a family photo to the centre of the wreath.  It would make such a lovley gift - if you can bear to part with it that is!  You can find details of the items I used at the end of this post.

Next up is Tricia - I can't wait to see her project!  If you get lost along the way, a list of participants in the hop can be found below.

Happy crafting.

Stampin' Up! Casing The Annual Catalogue - Stamp 'N Hop 11/18

Hello and welcome to the latest Stamp 'N Hop Blog Hop.  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who get together each month to share our love of all things Stampin' Up!

If you have joined me from Pia or are starting here with me, welcome - I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop along with us.

This month our challenge is to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) with a project from the Annual Catalogue.

I think this has been one of the toughest challenges yet as there are so many stamp sets that I love.

However, I decided to revisit a stamp set that I used recently for one of my Coffee & Cards sessions - Mistletoe Season.  It can be found on page 95 of the Annual Catalogue.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Mistletoe Season, Stamp 'N Hop November 2018, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

There are many lovely examples of projects you can make with this set but I was drawn to the one at the bottom of the photo.

The colours for the project are taken from the Under The Mistletoe Designer Series Paper.

At first glance of the stamps I thought there was something wrong with the mistletoe images as there were parts of the stems missing.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Mistletoe Season, Stamp 'N Hop November 2018, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

However, closer inspection revealed that Stampin' Up! had done it again - there was a purpose for those gaps!

The centre of the bow fits perfectly in the gap.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Mistletoe Season, Stamp 'N Hop November 2018, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Talking of the bow, I used Night of Navy ink.  The outline was stamped at full strength and then for the infill, I stamped off onto a piece of scrap paper first.

I stamped the tiny clusters of berries around the mistletoe but then I decided to add some of the red rhinestones on top for a bit of sparkle.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Mistletoe Season, Stamp 'N Hop November 2018, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

After adhering the DSP to the front of the card I assembled the stamped panel with Dimensionals.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Mistletoe Season, Stamp 'N Hop November 2018, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I'm not a fan of fussy sentiments so the simple Joy & Love in this lovely font was perfect (for me at least).  I used the Banner Triple Punch for the sentiment and again layered with Dimensionals.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Mistletoe Season, Stamp 'N Hop November 2018, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

As usual, I stamped on the inside of the card and the envelope.

If you are ever lost for inspiration, or you need a card in a hurry, I strongly recommend that you take a closer look at the projects in the catalogue.  There are so many great projects inside that you are bound to find something inspirational.

Next up is the lovely Karen.  I met Karen last year at a Stampin' Up! event called OnStage and we have been good friends ever since.  I know she will have something special to share with you (click the arrow below to hop over).

Happy hopping - don't forget to leave a comment to let me know what you think of my project!

Stampin' Up! Santa's Workshop - stepped up

Hello, here are the details for the final project this week using Signs of Santa.

The colour scheme is simple - Poppy Parade, Whisper White with just a touch of black.  Nice and simple and just perfect for Christmas!

My crafty ladies today loved the flocking on the DSP!  It was lovely to welcome Louise back who has been MIA for 6 weeks following surgery.  She brought her gorgeous little boy with her so I was able to have Casey cuddles too = happy me!

The inside of the card has a panel of WW so that you can write a message.  We trimmed 2cm from the front edge of the card and adhered a strip the striped DSP to the inside of the card.

Some simple stamping and a little colouring ...

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Signs of Santa, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

For the front of the card we stamped Santa and coloured him with the Stampin' Blends.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Signs of Santa, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

We used Smoky Slate (Light) to add a shadow so that he does not look like he is flying.

We used the Layering Circles to create a rosette and stamped this lovely sentiment on it using Poppy Parade ink.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Signs of Santa, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

We used some Glimmer Paper to cut out some snowflakes and adhered to the front of the card.

On Wednesday afternoons I run a crafty after school club; this week the children made a card using items from this Suite - they absolutely loved the flocking on the DSP!

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week - next week for Coffee & Cards we will be using a stamp set called Dashing Deer.

Hope you have a crafty weekend!

Stampin' Up! On Stage 2018 - 3oth Anniversary!

Hello, finally I've managed to find some time to look at the photos taken at OnStage last Saturday to celebrate Stampin' Ups! 30th Birthday.

Although I have been attending OnStage events for a few years now, this year was really special for me as I was joined by three of my team members and Stampin' Up! are also celebrating their 30th birthday!

This is what a room of over 500+ very excited Demonstrators looks like waiting for the event to start.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Mistletoe Season, Stamp 'N Hop November 2018, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Its a frame up!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Mistletoe Season, Stamp 'N Hop November 2018, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

The craftyducky came too (of course)  - she is sitting on the secret supplies needed for our make and take projects!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Mistletoe Season, Stamp 'N Hop November 2018, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

During the course of the day there are several prize patrols - Sarah and Lesley were lucky enough to win the first one!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Mistletoe Season, Stamp 'N Hop November 2018, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Sue was kept in suspense until the end of the day for her prize!

November is also the time of year that Stampin' Up! recognise the achievements of Demonstrators.

I was honoured to be recognised for recruiting and leadership and, I was totally surprised to discover that overall I was ranked in the top 50 Demonstrators in the UK (#48)!!

Of course this would not have been possible without the support of my lovely team and customers - who would have thought that my love of stamping would lead to such wonderful opportunities?  I am truly humbled and grateful to everyone who supports me shares in this wonderful adventure.

I shared details at the weekend of a special gift I had printed for the ducklings.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Mistletoe Season, Stamp 'N Hop November 2018, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I also received some lovely gifts from them ... I will share some photos in a post very soon.

These are the swaps I received from other Demonstrators.  These events are a chance for us to renew friendships and make new ones too.  I am lucky enough to have Demonstrator friends all over the UK and the rest of the world too.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Mistletoe Season, Stamp 'N Hop November 2018, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I've not had chance to investigate them all properly yet but I will soon!

We also received some fabulous gifts from Stampin' Up! - I will share photos as soon as I can take some.

It was a long day; we left Godmanchester at 5:45 to drive to the Vox Centre in Birmingham and we did not get home until around 7:30pm.  We were all tired but happy and excited for what is to come.

If you would like to be part of the wonderful world of Stampin' Up! we would love you to join us.  Would you like to receive a minimum of 20% discount on your orders or perhaps you would like to start a crafty business I can help!  Just contact me for a chat and I will tell you how you can make Stampin' Up! work for you.

Happy crafting!

Stampin' Up! Santa's Workshop - quick & simple

Hello, here are the details for our first Coffee & Cards project this week - such a fun project using items from the Santa's Workshop Suite - perhaps perfect for the younger members of your family?

We used some die cuts from the Santa's Workshop Speciality DSP.  Isn't it great that the framelits fit the images on the DSP = no fussy cutting!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Santa's Workshop Suite, Signs of Santa, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Here is a close up so that you can see the gorgeous white flocking on the hat, pinny and present ...

Craftyduckydoodah!, Santa's Workshop Suite, Signs of Santa, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Everyone chose their favourite characters for their project this morning; once the decisions (and some took a while) were made, the pieces were adhered to one of my favourite Stitched Shape Framelits.

We stamped a sentiment in Poppy Parade ink.

A piece of DSP slightly narrower than the notecard provided a colourful background.  We then used some of the Poppy Parade Textured Weave Ribbon and adhered the decorated oval on top with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The inside of the card was stamped to match - we used another of the sentiments and two of the images.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Santa's Workshop Suite, Signs of Santa, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

As I am looking at the photo above I have no idea why I didn't colour in the little cart but, I have now!  I used Stampin' Write Pens (Poppy Parade and Garden Green) for mine.

Here is the completed card and envelope.

I have two further C & C session this week, if you would like to join me to make this card and another, you can all find the details here.  Don't forget that if you place a £25 plus order on Thursday you can craft for free!

Don't forget everyone who crafts with me this week will have the chance to win a quarter share of the stunning Frosted Floral DSP!

Details of the products I used for this project can be found below.

Hope you can join me for a crafty coffee soon.
