Stampin' Up! Dandelion Wishes - quick & simple

Hello, here are the details for our first project this week using Dandelion Wishes.

We used a favourite technique of mine to create a background.  I used this technique for my June customer thank you cards and several of my crafty ladies asked if I could show them how to do it.

You need a Stampin' Write Marker (I used Pool Party) and an 'H' block.

Scribble the marker across the block - easier and quicker if you use the fat end!

Lightly spritz (from a distance) and then 'stamp' onto your background.

Leave for a couple of seconds and then lift the block.  Everytime you do this you will get a different result - so effective and, very simple to do too - love it!"

Leave the background to dry for a few minutes before stamping the Dandelion using Coatal Cabana ink.

I used the Fine Tip Glue to add tiny dots to each seed head and then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter.

Here is the completed card and envelope.  There is a lovely little stamp in this set that has a cluster of tiny seed heads.  I used it and some Pool Party ink to stamp along the edge of the envelope and the inside of the card - so pretty.

The happy birthday sentiment is from a stamp set called Detailed With Love.  These cards are quick and easy to make and would look lovely in lots of colours.

If you would like to try this technique, I have two more C & C sessions this week, if you would like to join me, you can find the details here.

Details of the products I used for this project can be found below.
Hope you can join me for a crafty coffee (or a long, cool drink) soon.

Stampin' Up! Dandelion Wishes for Coffee & Cards

Hello, this week for Coffee & Cards we will be using a new stamp set called Dandelion Wishes.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Dandelion Wishes, July 2018 Coffee & Cards Project, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, #lovemyjob, #stampinupuk,

This particular stamp set was right at the top of my list when I saw the new catalogue - I just had to have it!  I used to love picking dandelions as a child; blowing the seeds whilst making a wish ...  we've all done it haven't we?

One of the first stamps I ever bought was of a dandelion seed head.  I still have it but unfortunately it is burried somewhere in a 20ft container at the moment.  However, I have managed to find a photo of it - I no longer use wood mount stamps as I prefer clear mount and photopolymer.  They are much easier to use but, I will not be parting with this particular stamp!

This week the colour palette is very simple but would work just as well with any favourite colour(s).

Lots of sparkle this week too - note to self don't sprinkle glitter when there is a fan blowing on your desk!

This week we will be stamping, die cutting, embossing, glittering (lots) and trying a watercolour background technique.

Here are the cards we will be making.

Stampin' Up! Tropical Chic - stepped up

Hello, here are the details for the second project using Tropical Chic albeit a day later than usual - what a week it has been!

The weather has been so hot that I decided to stamp and cut out all the pink flowers we would be using this week - I think all this sunshine has gone to my head!  Normal service will resume shortly ... I cut dozens of them out but it did not take that long really.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Tropical Chic, Perennial Birthday, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, July 2018 Coffee & Cards Project, #lovemyjob,

The sentiment is from Perennial Birthday - it is stamped onto a piece of cardstock that spans the entire width of the card.  The two flowers have been adhered with Tombow, the sentiment has been raised up with Dimensionals.

My favourite part of this project is the inside of the card - I love the contrasting colours!

These just  are some of the cards made this week at Coffee & Cards.  I am really enjoying the recent colour refresh - so many new combinations to explore and, ones that I would not normally choose like the colours used this week - thank you Stampin' Up!

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week.  I have so many ideas for projects with the bundle it might well be back again!  I will share details of the projects for next week shortly - I have not decided what we will be doing next week yet.

I am busy doing some last minute prep for a very special event tomorrow.  Its my ducklings team event which is taking place in St Ives.  We will be crafting, chatting, drinking coffee and eating cake (of course)!!

Here is a sneaky peak of something else tropical I have made as a treat for my ducklings!

Stampin' Up! Favourite Designer Series Paper for Stamp N Hop

Hello and welcome to another Stamp N Hop blog hop!  We are a group of Demonstrators from around the World who love to share all things Stampin' Up!

If you have hopped over from Jacqui or are starting the hop here with me, welcome and thank you for hopping along with us - I hope you find lots of inspiration.

This month we were asked to choose our favourite Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Well, this was a real tough decision for me - I have several favourites in the new Catalogue.

However, a decision had to be made so I chose Tropical Escape.  These stunning papers certainly put me in the mood to travel to far flung places, I love the colours and patterns in these papers.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Tropical Chic, Tropical Escape DSP, Stamp N Hop, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, #lovemyjob, #stampinupuk,

I have been using the Tropical Chic bundle all week for classes.  One of my crafty ladies earlier this week asked if I could show her how to make a different fold for a card.  She described something she had seen to me but did not know what is was called.  I had no idea either, hopefully this is what she meant - it took me ages to figure out the various measurements!

This is my favourite piece of DSP in the whole pack.  I really like the layered leaves and the mix of colours.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Tropical Chic, Tropical Escape DSP, Stamp N Hop, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, #lovemyjob, #stampinupuk,

This Granny Apple Green cardstock layered with Blushing Bride is a new favourite combo of mine.

I stamped and cut out lots of different leaves and then I decided to use my all time favourite dies; Stitched Shape Framelits to create a panel for my sentiment.  I like the mix of different fonts on this lovely sentiment from Perennial Birthday.

I spent ages arranging and then rearranging my flowers and leaves but something was missing.  Of course the answer was obvious really!

A Fabulous Flamingo - stamped using the Stamparatus and carefully fussy cut out!

I used a Sponge Dauber and some Melon Mambo ink to add extra colour to the centre of the flowers and added a large jewel to each flower with some Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle.

This is what the card looks like from the side - lots of lovely dimension.

I also stamped an envelope and an insert to match.

I have really enjoyed using this DSP and the stamps all week - I love the tropical-ness (is that a word?) and the colours are not ones I would normally go for which makes a nice change.  I can see uses for every single pattern/sheet of DSP which makes it excellent value for money especially as it is available as part of the Select DSP Sale, buy three, get one free.

I took the liberty of ordering an extra pack of Tropical Escape with a recent order myself - which papers would you choose?  You can find details of which DSP is included in this offer here.

I hope you enjoyed my project, I love to read what you think of my projects; please do leave a comment below to let me know.   Next up is Anastasia - I can't wait to see which is her favourite DSP!   If you get lost along the way a list of participants in this hop can be found below.

Thanks for hopping with us again, come back soon so you don't miss anything!

Stampin' Up! Tropical Chic - quick & simple

Hello, here are the details for our first project this week using Tropical Chic.

My crafty ladies this morning loved the colour combo - Granny Apple Green was a bit of a hit!

We started with the peek through die and a piece of 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm  Whisper White cardstock.  After cutting the panel we adhered a piece of Granny Apple Green behind using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Tropical Chic, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, July 2018 Coffee & Cards Project, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, #stampinupuk, #lovemyjob,

Before adhering the panel, we stamped just one leaf below where the bottom corner of our panel was to be placed.  We then stamped an additional leaf and die cut.

The sentiment we used is one of those very useful ones - when you need more than a simple thank you, this one just works!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Tropical Chic, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, July 2018 Coffee & Cards Project, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, #stampinupuk, #lovemyjob,

I was very nice to my crafty ladies this morning, I pre stamped and cut out all the flowers for them.  I think it might be the heat, normal service will be resumed shortly!

Craftyduckydoodah!, Tropical Chic, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, July 2018 Coffee & Cards Project, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, #stampinupuk, #lovemyjob,

We placed a large jewel in the centre of the flower.  You could also add some Wink of Stella for a little more sparkle.

However, if pink flowers were not your thing you could use red, orange, pink or yellow inks.  Wouldn't Melon Mambo look fab?

Here is the completed card and envelope.  We used my favourite leaf in this set to decorate one end of the envelope and the inside of the card too.
