Stampin' Up Dandeliion Wishes - stepped up

Hello, here are the details for the second project this week using Dandelion Wishes.  This post should have been published on Thursday - unfortunately Blooger seem to be having a few technical issues :(

I very nearly missed the TIEF we used for this project.  The image in the Annual Catalogue does not do it justice!

This wonderful TIEF turns a plain pice of cardstock into something full of texture in a really subtle way - hopefully you can see the effect a little better on the photo below.

The seed heads were stamped on the card before it was embossed and then it was adhered to the card base with lots of Stampin' Dimensionals.

We used Coastal Cabana to stamp the flowers onto a Stitched Shape Framelit.  The Fine-Tip Glue Pen was used to place lots of tiny dots of adhesive at the base of each seed and then libearlly sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter for lots of sparkle.

Three different sized jewels were added to the centre of the flowers as a final touch.

The sentiment (from Perennial Birthday) was stamped onto a 1cm wide piece of card and trimmed to fit across the Pool Party layer and was stamped in Coastal Cabana.

Here is the completed card and envelope.

I am so pleased that my crafty ladies enjoyed crafting with this stamp set as much as I have!  Here are the cards that were made on Tuesday.

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week.  Next week we will be using a stamp and framelit bundle called Lilypad Lake.

Have a crafty weekend.  I'm hopping on Saturday with Stampers by the Dozen for a 're do' challenge where I will be revamping a project from 2015!

Ducklings Team Event!

Hello, I've finally managed to get around to sorting out some photos of the ducklings team event that took place last weekend.

We met up at Bests Coffee Shop for a day of crafting, chatting and a little Stampin' Up! news.

Of course I needed a project for us to work on; I saw something a few weeks ago made by the fabulous Pootles that was perfect for us!  (There is a link to the tutorial at the end of this post).

Lots of last minute prepping for me; the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and my Stampin' Trimmer were invaluable preparing all those boxes.

I made these little table gifts for everyone as I was still feeling tropical after last weeks C & C projects - the flamingo was as close to a craftyducky as I could get!

All set up and ready to go - the project was kept a secret from my crafty ducklings!

Before long the table was a crafty mess...

Craftyduckydoodah!, Ducklings Team Meeting, July 2018, Desk Tidy, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson,

This is what we made - 5 little boxes decorated with DSP.

The boxes fit inside a little tray to make a desk tidy that is surprisingly sturdy.

Roll forwards a couple of hours, lots of chatter, coffee, cake and a delicious lunch and here we are with our finished projects.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Ducklings Team Meeting, July 2018, Desk Tidy, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson,

We all choose different colours and papers- mine is on my desk proving very useful.  This project is a great way of using up that DSP that we all hoard - I even managed to use some retired papers from last year.

These events are free for my team members - if you would like to join us for the next one, now is the best time to join Stampin' Up!

During July you can choose 10 FREE ink pads from your favourite colour family in addition to your starter kit (your choice of products) for just £99.  That's an incredible £200 value for just 99!

Which colour family would you choose?  It would be a hard choice for me; Subtles or Brights ...

I have a small but growing team of ducklings and we would love you to join us.

You will also receive a minimum of 20% ongoing discount off future orders and lots of other perks and privilges too i.e being able to pre order from the new Seasonal Catalogue a whole month before everyone else!   I am a full time demo and I am happy to support you on your creative journey whether you are a hobbyist or looking to create a small business.

You can find further details here.  Or, if you have already made your mind up follow this link here to begin your creative adventure with me and the ducklings!

I hope you decide to join and then you can join us for our next ducklings event too!

Stampin' Up! Dandelion Wishes - quick & simple

Hello, here are the details for our first project this week using Dandelion Wishes.

We used a favourite technique of mine to create a background.  I used this technique for my June customer thank you cards and several of my crafty ladies asked if I could show them how to do it.

You need a Stampin' Write Marker (I used Pool Party) and an 'H' block.

Scribble the marker across the block - easier and quicker if you use the fat end!

Lightly spritz (from a distance) and then 'stamp' onto your background.

Leave for a couple of seconds and then lift the block.  Everytime you do this you will get a different result - so effective and, very simple to do too - love it!"

Craftyduckydoodah!, Dandelion Wishes, July 2018 Coffee & Cards Project, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Leave the background to dry for a few minutes before stamping the Dandelion using Coatal Cabana ink.

I used the Fine Tip Glue to add tiny dots to each seed head and then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter.

Here is the completed card and envelope.  There is a lovely little stamp in this set that has a cluster of tiny seed heads.  I used it and some Pool Party ink to stamp along the edge of the envelope and the inside of the card - so pretty.

The happy birthday sentiment is from a stamp set called Detailed With Love.  These cards are quick and easy to make and would look lovely in lots of colours.

If you would like to try this technique, I have two more C & C sessions this week, if you would like to join me, you can find the details here.

Details of the products I used for this project can be found below.
Hope you can join me for a crafty coffee (or a long, cool drink) soon.

Stampin' Up! Dandelion Wishes for Coffee & Cards

Hello, this week for Coffee & Cards we will be using a new stamp set called Dandelion Wishes.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Dandelion Wishes, July 2018 Coffee & Cards Project, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, #lovemyjob, #stampinupuk,

This particular stamp set was right at the top of my list when I saw the new catalogue - I just had to have it!  I used to love picking dandelions as a child; blowing the seeds whilst making a wish ...  we've all done it haven't we?

One of the first stamps I ever bought was of a dandelion seed head.  I still have it but unfortunately it is burried somewhere in a 20ft container at the moment.  However, I have managed to find a photo of it - I no longer use wood mount stamps as I prefer clear mount and photopolymer.  They are much easier to use but, I will not be parting with this particular stamp!

This week the colour palette is very simple but would work just as well with any favourite colour(s).

Lots of sparkle this week too - note to self don't sprinkle glitter when there is a fan blowing on your desk!

This week we will be stamping, die cutting, embossing, glittering (lots) and trying a watercolour background technique.

Here are the cards we will be making.

Stampin' Up! Tropical Chic - stepped up

Hello, here are the details for the second project using Tropical Chic albeit a day later than usual - what a week it has been!

The weather has been so hot that I decided to stamp and cut out all the pink flowers we would be using this week - I think all this sunshine has gone to my head!  Normal service will resume shortly ... I cut dozens of them out but it did not take that long really.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Tropical Chic, Perennial Birthday, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, July 2018 Coffee & Cards Project, #lovemyjob,

The sentiment is from Perennial Birthday - it is stamped onto a piece of cardstock that spans the entire width of the card.  The two flowers have been adhered with Tombow, the sentiment has been raised up with Dimensionals.

My favourite part of this project is the inside of the card - I love the contrasting colours!

These just  are some of the cards made this week at Coffee & Cards.  I am really enjoying the recent colour refresh - so many new combinations to explore and, ones that I would not normally choose like the colours used this week - thank you Stampin' Up!

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week.  I have so many ideas for projects with the bundle it might well be back again!  I will share details of the projects for next week shortly - I have not decided what we will be doing next week yet.

I am busy doing some last minute prep for a very special event tomorrow.  Its my ducklings team event which is taking place in St Ives.  We will be crafting, chatting, drinking coffee and eating cake (of course)!!

Here is a sneaky peak of something else tropical I have made as a treat for my ducklings!
