Nothing's Better Than - Hopping Around The World!

Hello, it's time for another Hop Around The World.  This month we are sharing 3d project inspiration.

Craftyduckydoodah,

If you are starting the hop here with me or joining from Mai Chapelain why not grab a coffee and hop around with us for lots of inspiration.

I have chosen to use a stamp and die bundle called Nothing's Better Than.  This stamp set that might just have passed you by in the excitement of all the new and wonderful goodies in the Annual Catalogue.  However, in normal times I used to spend a significant part of my week in coffee shops hosting my Coffee & Cards sessions and this bundle was at the top of my wish list.

Stampin' Up, Nothing's Better Than, Craftyduckydoodah!,

The stamps and dies are available as a bundle which means a 10% saving.

Here is my project: (shown without the frame)

Nothing's Better Than, Stampin' Up, Craftyduckydoodah,

You will need:
Soft Suede 14 x 14 cm
Crumb Cake 8.5 cm x 8.5 cm
Small pieces of ww thick and Bermuda Bay for stamping and die cutting

The background:
I used Early Espresso ink to stamp lots of little stars to create the background on the panel of Soft Suede card.

Top Tip
Position the Crumb Cake panel and softly mark each corner with a pencil so that you have an idea of where you need to stamp.  Remove the pencil marks with a good quality pencil eraser after you have stamped.

I used my Stamparatus to position the text stamps on the piece of Crumb Cake card and stamped with Early Espresso ink.

The die cut elements:
I used a new product that can be found on page 162 of the Annual Catalogue - Foam Adhesive Sheets.  I confess I got quite excited when I saw these!

I cut a small piece of foam sheet and adhered a piece of Bermuda Bay card on top with Tombow.

Once the adhesive is dry (this is important), run through your die cutting machine using the 'coffee' die.  You can see below that using the adhesive foam saves having to die cut and carefully stack lots of pieces together with glue.

Stampin' Up, Nothing's Better Than, Craftyduckydoodah,

I stamped a coffee cup using Memento ink, coloured with the Stampin Blends and cut out with the coordinating die .

Position to cup and carefully stamp the steam for the cup using Early Espresso ink.

To assemble:
I used a RIBA frame from IKEA.

Carefully position the Soft Suede panel behind the picture mount - adhere with Washi Tape - I used my retired stash.

Adhere the Crumb Cake panel and the cup with dimensionals.

Carefully peel the backing off the die cut word and adhere.

At this point I thought my project was finished but when I looked at the photos I had taken I decided to add a couple of extra stamped stars to fill in some gaps on the background.

I added a couple of handfuls of coffee beans to the frame and put the frame back together.

The finished project:

Stampin' Up, Nothing's Better Than, Craftyduckydoodah,

Pinnies Cafe in Godmanchester is a favourite meeting place for my crafty friends and I.  It is run by MENCAP and the staff are all wonderful.  So is the coffee and the homemade cakes!  They will be re-opening very soon and I wanted to make them a little something to display in the shop.  I hope they like my surprise gift!

There are so many possibilities with the Nothing's Better Than stamp set - there can't be many people who don't like either coffee, cookies of chocolate can there?

Next up is  Claudia  Christensen from Germany who has more 3D inspiration to share.

Wherever you are in the World, stay safe and well and thanks for hopping by.

Crafty hugs,

Susan xx
