Stampin' Up! Fabulous Flamingo for #JOS001 Challenge – The Letter “F”

Hello, just a really quick post from me today showing how you can take your card making to the next level.

I really enjoyed using Fabulous Flamingo this week so when I need a special card for one of my ducklings who celebrated her birthday this week ...

The card is virtually the same as the stepped up project we did for Coffee & Cards but with a few tweaks!

I used Tranquil Tide for the grasses at the bottom of the card and used some second generation stamping to add depth and an additional colour.

I raised the left hand side of the sandbank with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I also used Dimensionals on the head, neck and body of my flamingo and then tucked the legs behind the sandbank.

I raised the entire panel with Dimensionals too - what would we do without them?

Here is the completed card and envelope.

As a finishing touch, I added a googly eye!  I've had these eyes in my crafty stash for so long that they are now slightly discoloured but I don't think it matters in this instance.

I am pleased to report Karen received her card and, she had a lovely birthday too!

Another of my team members Bev is on the Design Team for a Challenge Blog called The Joy of Sets.  July is the very first challenge - the brief is to use a set with the letter F - so as in this instance, Fabulous Flamingo.

Anyone can take part whether you are a Demo or you are an SU addict - I come into both categories so I thought I would enter this first challenge.

If you pop over the the Joy of Sets Challenge Blog you will see lots of fabulous inspiration - don't forget to check out Bev's card using a stamp set call Floral Phrases - it is stunning.  I'm sure that the Design Team would love you to leave a comment too.

Details of the products I used to create this card can be found below.

Hope you have a crafty weekend.

Susan xx

  2. Thank you Bev - I think I must have had the eyes in my stash for around 20 years so no wonder they have an 'aged' look! :)
