Dragonfly Garden - quick & simple
Hello, here are the details of a lovely quick and simple project made with the Dragonfly Garden bundle.
This bundle is very versatile; I have lots of ideas flitting around in my head - all I need is the time to get them out! I love the mix of sentiments too and, I'm always drawn to sentiments that using a variety of fonts.
Here is my project:
You will need:
21 cm x 14.5 cm Basic White Thick (BWT) scored at 10.5 cm
10 cm x 14 cm BWT
10 cm x 14 cm Misty Moonlight
9.5 cm x 13.5 cm BW
Piece of BWT for stamping and punching
The background:
I used my Stamparatus with one of the images from the Very Versailles stamp set to create a background. The script has been stamped with So Saffron ink onto the BWT piece of card.
Again using my Stamparatus, I stamped these gorgeous flowers using Misty Moonlight ink.
If you wish to add a sentiment do it now. I decided to add my sentiment at a much later stage which is not good!
The stamping and punching:
Stamp one of the dragonflies onto a piece of BWT and punch out.
The sentiment:
To assemble:
Scuff the edges of the stamped panel and adhere to the card base with dimensionals.
Curl and shape the wings of the dragonfly and adhere to the card with mini dimensionals.
The details:
I used a Water Painter to smoosh the ink on the wings to create a paler blue colour and then added some Wink of Stella on top for a bit of sparkle. I also added a trio of jewels.
The inside/envelope:
Adhere the Misty Moonlight layer to the inside of the card using double sided tape. I then stamped a flutter of butterflies using Misty Moonlight ink in one corner of the BW card. Adhere this panel with double sided tape.
I also stamped a flutter of butterflies on the envelope flap.
The completed project:
I love this clean and simple project; I am a fan of white space and if can also scuff some edges then I am a happy crafter! Of course you don't have to scuff but I like the added texture and dimension.
As I mentioned in my earlier post, his card was made for my friends birthday last year. Unfortunately when I needed the card I couldn't find it!
I will be back next week to share some variations of this project using different colour combos and embellishments.
Have a crafty week!
