Best Bunny for the Joy of Sets Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another Joy Of Sets Challenge Blog Hop.  We are a group of crafters who love to share our love of papercrafting.  My name is Susan aka Craftyduckydoodah! - I live in beautiful Godmanchester near Cambridge, UK.  I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop around with us.

This month our theme is 3d Easter projects.

This inspiration for my project this month came from a workshop I did recently for a group of local children.

We made a selection of Spring/Easter decorations from fun foam.  My favourite was this handsome chappy made out of soft foam pieces and a pipe cleaner!

I challenged myself to recreate the bunny/carrot using my Stampin' Up! supplies.

Using a selection of circle punches (see below for sizes), and Pumpkin Pie card stock I got to work.

I knew I needed to punch holes in the centre of the circles but was not sure how to get the hole in the middle.

Using a retired hole punch I punched holes in the card and then centred the circle punch around it.  This way I had half a chance of getting the hole somewhere near the middle!

I used the heavyweight card from the back of the Designer Series Paper packs to form a 'sandwich' between the Pumpkin Pie card stock.

I punched six circles with holes in and then using the same punches cut another six from Pumpkin Pie and six from the heavyweight card.  I used a large flower punch (sadly retired) to create the carrot top, cutting four of them as the backing card proved too tough for the flower punch to cope with.

I placed the circle with the hole as a sandwich with another Pumpkin Pie and a heavyweight card circle in the centre and then punched through the centre hole so that the holes lined up.

Using Tombow, I adhered a Pumpkin Pie circle to each side of the corresponding heavyweight circle.

I stamped a front and back for the bunny and added some colour with Stampin' Blends.

Now I was ready to assemble my bunny/carrot.  I used some ribbon; this Fresh Fig ribbon is 'flat' and stopped the circles from moving around too much whilst allowing me to space them out.  It was much easier using a pipe cleaner on my original project!

I made a loop with the end of the ribbon, stapling together the ends before sandwiching between the two heads with several glue dots.

I will be making lots of these little bunny carrots to hang on my Easter tree this year.

I enjoyed finding a way to re create this fun project - they would be fun to make with children too.
