So Much Happy - Stamp 'N Hop
This month we are showcasing our favourite bundles. I decided to use a bundle called So Much Happy. Stampin' Up! bundles give a 10% saving off the individual prices - every little helps right?
I have used this bundle a lot, in fact my two previous blog posts feature projects with this bundle!
As soon as I saw this die I just knew it would make a fabulous shaker card!
The colours I used:
You will need:
Night of Navy 29cm x 10.5 cm scored at 14.5 cm
ww thick 10 x 14 cm
ww regular 10 x 14 cm
Night of Navy 14 cm x 4 cm
Designer Series Paper (DSP) 4cm x 14 cm
DSP 1 cm x 14
Window Sheet 8 cm x 3.5 cm
The die cutting:
Position the 'happy' die across the front of the thick ww panel. It doesn't really matter where you place it as long as you make sure there is enough room for the balloons!
You will also need to cut the Night of Navy panel too. I am on a mission at the moment to use up some of the scraps I accumulate. The Night of Navy piece is a scrap. It doesn't matter what this panel looks like as long as there is an edge to glue behind the white panel.
Using Tombow, add thin lines of glue above and below 'happy' and adhere to the ww panel offsetting slightly to create a shadow effect. You will need to trim one end as the Night of Navy will now overlap slightly.
The shaker element:
Adhere the Window Sheet to the back of the panel using Tombow. You will need to tim/angle the edge by the 'Y' so that you can't see it from the front. Take a strip of foam adhesive and encase the 'happy' ensuring there are no gaps. Any tiny gaps allow the shaker pieces to escape which is not good!
Add the shaker elements - I used some tiny little blue and white beads from my crafty stash that were the perfect colours (a happy accident) but you could use anything that you have (sequins, beads, glitter etc).
Peel the back off the foam strips and adhere the larger DSP piece across the back of the panel taking care to align carefully on each side.
I used some more foam strips across the top and the bottom of the panel and Tombow across the DSP to adhere to the card front.
The card front:
All it needs now is a little more decorating. I confess I had intended to stamp 'birthday' on the panel but I forgot!
The balloons:I used a pieces of ww thick card to stamp two balloons using Misty Moonlight ink. I used the coordinating dies to cut them and another balloon from ww card out.
I added Wink of Stella to two of the balloons - I think I got a bit carried away with the white one but WoS looks so pretty and, for once I managed to get a photo of the sparkliness. The first balloon has been adhered with Tombow and the others with dimensionals. I adhered the single string to the reverse of the ww balloon as I felt three strings looked fussy.
The sentiment:
As I mentioned above, I had intended to stamp on the front panel. Instead I used another scrap stamped with Night of Navy and adhered with dimensionals.
The inside:
Adhere a strip of DSP along the bottom edge of the insert using Tombow. I stamped another balloon using Misty Moonlight and cut a ribbon and string from Night of Navy card. Adhere the string to the back of the balloon before adhering to the insert. Attach to the inside of the card using double sided tape.
I made this card with men in mind but by changing the colours it would be suitable for absolutely anyone. You could even add a number to one of the balloons to celebrate a special birthday too.
Don't forget to look out for all the bundles in current catalogues; who doesn't love a crafty bargain?
Next up is Jill Chapman who has another fabulous bundle to share with us.
