Rainbow Of Happiness - Crafty Collaborations
Hello and welcome to the latest Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop. I will be using the Rainbow Of Happiness Bundle for my project.
If you are joining our hop here with me at Craftyducky HQ or you have hopped over from Trish Soliman in Australia - welcome, we have lots of fabulous and colourful projects to share with you.
Our theme this month is rainbows - I love rainbows and am always excited to spot one aren't you? One of my most favourite quotes by Maya Angelous is 'try to be a rainbow in someone else's cloud'.
I was delighted to discover that one of the dies in the Brilliant Rainbow dies cuts out the rainbows from the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP. This lovely 6" x 6" DSP can be yours free with a £45 order until the 28th February (or whilst stocks last). Have you got yours yet?
Here is my project:
A fairly quick make of around 30 minutes that is already in the post on the way to a friend!
The colours I used:
You will need:
21 cm x 14.5 cm Basic White Thick (BWT) - scored at 10.5 cm
9 cm x 14 cm BWT
Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper (DSP)
Small piece of BWT for die cutting
The die cutting:
Cut out one of the rainbows from the DSP. I also cut some clouds using a scrap of BWT.
Top tip:
I used washi tape to hold the die in place. Sometimes the die can slip a little and it would be a shame to waste one of the rainbows - wonky rainbows are not good at all!
I used another piece of Sunshine & Rainbows DSP to cut out three borders. (You could also use the leftover piece of DSP on another project).
The background:
I used a blending brush and Balmy Blue ink to add a little colour around the top of the BWT panel.
To assemble:
Adhere one of the borders along the edge of the BWT panel using Tombow. Adhere the panel to the card front using dimensionals.
I used Tombow to adhere the rainbow pieces and one of the clouds. The other two clouds have been adhered with dimensionals.
The sentiment:
Using my new favourite stamp set for sentiments, (Flowing Flowers) and Memento ink I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of BWT and die cut using one of the Rectangle Stitched Edged dies. The sentiment has been adhered with dimensionals.
As a finishing touch I added two of the Classic Matte Dots.
The inside/envelope:
I used the remaining two die cut borders; adhering one along the inside edge of the card and the other on the envelope using Tombow.
The completed project:
I do think sending/receiving a handmade card is so much nicer than getting a text don't you?
Looking at the photo above, I realised I had forgotten to add some Wink of Stella to the clouds - too late now but I will add some next time I use these clouds!
Next up is Lorraine Tierney in the USA who has another fabulous project to share. Just click on Lorraine's name below mine to hop on over. Don't forget to leave comments to let us know what you think of our projects as you hop around.
Happy hopping!
Susan xx
