Hello Ladybug - Ink Stamp Share
Hello and welcome to the first Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop for 2022! I will be using a bundle called Hello Ladybug for my project today.
I had a clear vision in my mind for this project as soon as I saw the Hello Ladybug stamp set.
However, it was not to be as unusually, I had a problem with the stamp set and was unable to stamp the ladybugs. Stampin' Up! are brilliant on the very rare occasions when something like this happens. A new stamp set is winging (sorry) its way to me but this meant I had to rethink my project.
Here is my project:
A bright and cheerful card that is already on its way to a long distance friend.
The colours I used:
You will need:
14.5 cm x 21 cm Basic White Thick (BWT) - scored at 10.5 cm
10 cm x 14 cm BWT
You will also need BWT for the flower and sentiment
The background:
This lovely leaf has been stamped using Granny Apple Green ink onto the BWT panel. I then used a blending brush with Balmy Blue ink to add colour around around the edges of the panel and also around the leaf. The ink around the edge of the leaf really makes the image pop.
The flower:
I stamped two flowers using Daffodil Delight ink and punched out with the medium daisy punch - I was delighted to discover the flower was the same size as the punch! The inside of the flower was stamped first with Blushing Bride and then Melon Mambo.
The sentiment:
I stamped the sentiment on scrap BWT, once using Memento and again with Poppy Parade ink.
To assemble:
Adhere the background panel to the card front using dimensionals.
I curled and shaped the petals of the flower and then adhered with mini dimensionals offsetting the petals for a full flower.
The sentiment has been cut apart and then adhered with snipped off pieces from the dimensional sheet.
I also added a tiny metal ladybird to the leaf.
The inside/envelope:
I stamped partial leaves along the bottom edge of the card and the corner of the envelope using Granny Apple Green ink.
The completed project:
So, not quite the card I envisaged but I rather like it! It would be a great card for beginner crafters too.
Next up is my lovely crafty friend Mo - I can't wait to see her project!
