Stampin' Up! - On Stage 2017!

Hello, as some of you may know I was very lucky to be attending On Stage 2017 in Birmingham this weekend!

Hundred of Demonstrators (448 to be precise), from all over the country (and some from further afield too), gather together for training, crafting, swapping and lots of fun; meeting old friends and making new ones!

This is the venue when we first arrived.

This what a room looks like with 448 Demonstrators in!  Although groups tend to sit in 'team's we had a spare seat at our table and were joined by a lovely lady called Karen. She is the lady on the bottom right of the photo in mustard - I am sitting at the side of her but not in the photo!

Karen and I got on like a house on fire - lots in common apart from the obvious (crafting).

At the end of a rather long day we got together for a group photo before setting off to come home.

We have a tradition at these events of swapping - it is a brilliant way to get lots of ideas and inspiration and to meet other Demonstrators.

I had decided that I would not be swapping this year as I have just been so, so busy but last weekend I had an idea ... and I knew I would miss the experience and regret it if I had no swaps.

Early on Sunday morning I made a box  - nothing unusual in that you might say but then I wondered what I would put in it.

A quick trip into town, a coffee with my daughter and I came across these little individually wrapped brownies - I bought 42 of them!!

When I got home I started to think a little more carefully about my project.  I realised that if I made the boxes as per my sample, I would only be able to make one box from each A4 sheet - not good at all.

I spent ages tweaking, measuring, tweaking and measuring again and finally managed to get two boxes from each A4 sheet - result!

Here is my prototype - not a very exciting photo but if you saw how many attempts I had to get the measurements just right, you would understand just why .

After a quick look at my ribbon stash I decided I would use the same DSP I used for my sample box - Fresh Florals as I had ribbons and cardstock in all the coordinating colours.

I love the In Colours that were released this year - so fresh and vibrant and, they make a change from Christmas colours that are everywhere at the moment - can't think why!

One I had decided what I was doing the boxes and the wraps came together quite quickly.

Unfortunately I was short some of the Powder Pink Ribbon for the last two boxes.

Thankfully a quick message to my lovely Upline (Mikaela) and all was sorted as she kindly said she would bring some with her for me to use.

This is what 42 swaps looked like, all packed up and ready to go.

I was very excited to see what people were swapping - I will be back tomorrow with further details of how I made my swaps and I will hopefully share some photos of the swaps I received too.

Happy crafting!
