Stampin' Up! Dashing Deer - bendy card!

Hello, I've not made a bendy card for ages so, when one of my crafty ladies asked if we could do something special last week this was the ideal opportunity to try one again.

Bendy cards look impressive but they are easy to make - once you know how that is!

The stag image in this stamp set is very impressive - I stamped him in Gray Granite using the Stamparatus.

I then used a Sponge Dauber and 'pounced' some of the Frost White Shimmer Paint onto the stag and stamped him again.  The Stamparatus makes it so easy to do techniques like this.  Is it a coincidence that the Sponge Dauber fits perfectly into the lid of the Shimmer Paint?

Top Tip
I use an old tooth brush and some soapy water to clean stamps after using the Shimmer Paint.

Of course there is a coordinating framelit - those antlers would have been a bit tricky to fussy cut!

We also stamped and die cut a selection of trees and added some more Frost White to them (again with a Sponge Dauber).  Hopefully you can see the glimmer on the photo below.

A simple layered sentiment and some Dazzling Diamonds along the snow banks provided the finishing touches. Craftyduckydoodah!, Dashing Deer, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Winter Woods,

A piece of the lovely Frosted Floral DSP provided the perfect backdrop for this project.

We used a die from the Winter Woods Framelits to create a snowy border for the two bendy pieces.

A simple layered sentiment and some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter along the snow banks (to give the stag something to stand on), provided the finishing touches.

We stamped some of these lovely trees from Winter Woods on the back of the card and the envelope.

This is what the finished card looks like from above  - the beauty of this particular card is that it folds flat to reduce postage costs!  If you wanted to, you could add a battery tea light behind one of the sections too.

I decided to make one of these cards for my son Christoper so I swapped the Mint Macaron for Gray Granite.

I decided to make one of these cards for my son so I swapped the Mint Macaron for Gray Graphite ... Oh and I added an eye but resisted te temptaton to add a red nose!

As usual I'm not sure which version I prefer!  Oh and I added an eye but I resisted the temptation to add a red nose!

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week - I hope you will make lots of bendy cards now you know how!

Next week we will be using a stamp set that has been around for a couple of years called Foxy Friends.

Happy crafting!

Susan xx
