Fable Friends - stepped up

Here are the details for our final project this week using a stamp set called Fable Friends.

These cute images are such a lot of fun to colour, especially if you use the Stampin' Blends.  How cute are this trio of ducklings?

Top Tip
The beaks, feet and ribbons on the ducklings have been coloured using the Stampin' Write Markers.  Much easier and neater than using the Blends on such small areas!

There was also the option to do a spot of paper piecing on this project too - most crafty ladies chose to do this!

We used the light Smoky Slate Blend to add some colour to the duck, blending out slightly with the colour lifter pen.

We created a frame for the card using my favourite Rectangle Stitched Shape Framelits and then used the Basket Weave TIEF to add some texture before adhering to the card using Foam Adhesive Strips.

For the sentiment we used the smallest Stitched Shape Framelits circle and the tiny yellow flowers were cut with a die from Wonderful Floral Framelits.  A tiny jewel in the centre of the flowers adds a bit of sparkle.

Here is the completed card and envelope.  The mother duck's cape on this card has been coloured with the Stampin' Blends.

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week, it was lovely to meet new stampers and recatch up with returning crafty friends too.

Next week we will be doing something a little different - I will share details over the weekend!

I am busy prepping for my Spring Kit 'n' Caboodle Project Day which takes place on Saturday.  There are just a couple of places left - if you would like to join us for a day a crafting fun please get in touch asap.

There are two lovely kits to choose from this year - they would make fabulous gifts if you can bear to part with them!

Have a crafty weekend!

Susan xx
