Sailing Home - stepped up

Hello, here are the details for our final project this week using the Sailing Home bundle.

We used a partial die cutting technique for the top panel of the card.  We used a panel of thick Whisper White 5mm smaller than our card base.  Stamp the lighthouse using Night of Navy ink and place the coordinating die on the image. 

Carefully position the top plate of the Big Shot so as to NOT cover the bottom of the image. Run through the Big Shot.  The next step uses the largest circle from the Layering Circles dies.  Place the die on top of the lighthouse and again, position the top plate so as to NOT cut out the full circle.  Once cut, you can carefully snip any tiny areas if necessary.

Using a piece of regular card stock again, 5mm smaller than the front panel we used sponge brayers to create a background.

Be careful when using green and yellow inks; we all know what happens when they are mixed!!

I love these birds stamped in Night of Navy - such a useful little stamp and perfect for this scene. 

Once you have the background, dimensionals were placed on the lighthouse panel which was then adhered to the brayered panel.

To finish off the front of the card I used some Soft Suede card to cut out a rope and adhered across the front of the card with Tombow - I let the ends overhang for extra dimension.  I then wrapped some of this lovely Baker's Twine above and below the rope and added a die cut knot to finish. The panel has been adhered to the card base with Tombow.

A stamped lighthouse and some birds have been stamped on the inside of the card and the envelope front.  The lighthouse has been stamped off first for a softer look.

During the course of each week lucky me gets to make several of our C & C projects.  Invariably, I tweak and change things as I go along.
