Forever Blossoms - Kreators Blog Hop
Hello, and welcome to another Kre8tors Blog Hop. We a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world who love to share our passion for crafting. If you are joining me from Melissa in the USA or, starting here with me I'm sure you will find lots of inspiration as you hop along with us.
Our theme this month is Spring. Everytime I think of Spring, a certain song comes to my mind - April In Paris. For obvious reasons I can't get there this year but there is always next year! So, from this song, it was a simple step (for me at least), to decide to use the Forever Blossoms Bundle which is part of the Parisienne Blossoms Suite for my project.
The sentiments in the Forever Blossoms stamp set are designed for Weddings, Anniversaries and friendships. The stunning detailed floral images makes this a very versatile bundle.
I love that there are multiples of some of the dies too - makes mass production easier and quicker!
Here are the colours I used for my project.
Here is the card I made.
To create the Forever Blossoms card
21 cm x 14.5 cm thick ww - scored at 10.5 cm
10 cm x 14 cm thick ww
10 cm x 14 cm Pool Party
9.5 cm x 13.5 cm regular ww
ww thick for stamping and die cutting
To create the background
I used a sponge brayer and Pool Party ink to create my background. I was aiming for a soft and gentle look. I added the ink in a sort of 'C' shape.
To create the die cut elements
Stamp the floral sprig with Memento ink and cut out with the coordinating die.
I used the smallest Stitched Rectangle die for the sentiment. I also stamped a tiny bud and part of a leaf on the panel to fill in some of the white space.
Isn't this sentiment lovely - it says it all doesn't it!
To colour the die cut elements
I used Stampin' Blends to colour the images. Nothing fancy, no shading or anything. I used the detail on each part of the images as a guide as to where to lay down my colour.
Once finished, I swiped over the coloured images with the Colour Lifter to create a soft watercolour look.
To assemble the Forever Blossoms card
I adhered the coloured panel and the sentiment to the card base with dimensionals.
For the floral sprig I used a single dimensional underneath the flower at the top and a double layer of dimensionals in the centre.
After peeling the backs off the dimensionals, I used a dab of Tombow on the stem and adhered to the card front.
Hopefully you can see above, this technique gives extra depth and dimension to the card without too much effort!
As a finishing touch, I added a trio of Champagne Rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.
To create the inside of the Forever Blossoms card
Adhere the Pool Party card to the inside with double sided tape.
I used the tiny bud image to stamp along the edge of the ww regular card and coloured with the Stampin' Blends.
Adhere to the Pool Party layer with double sided tape.
Here is the completed card and envelope. I also used the tiny bud to decorate the envelope.
Top Tip
Place a scrap of card inside the envelope behind the stamped images before colouring so you don't spoil the envelope. The ink from the Stampin' Blends will seep through the front of the envelope if you don't do this.
I hope you enjoyed my project, next up is the lovely Libby Fens who has a great project to share with us. If you get lost along the hop, a list of everyone taking part can be found below.
Thanks for hopping with us, stay safe and well.
Happy Easter!
Susan xx
