Birds & Branches - stepped up
Hello are are the details for the final project this week using the Birds & Branches stamp and die bundle. I have many, many ideas for this lovely bundle; one them a Christmas card! I never buy any stamp set unless I can think of 5 things to do with it - I had no problems coming up with ideas for Birds & Branches!!
Here is my project:
Thank you so much for looking at my Blog today, if you don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and you live in the UK, I would love to be yours!
If you need to order any supplies, simply use my “shop with me” button or click on the catalogue links on the right. Alternatively, contact me and I would be happy to place an order for you.

If you prefer, you can view online versions by clicking the links to the right of this post. The new Annual Catalogue is now available. Also, the August - December mini catalogue will be available very soon - if you would like a copy of either catalogue, let me know!
Would you like to receive a FREE gift from me? All orders placed directly with me or online receive a handmade card from me as a thank you but did you know that all orders over £20 (excluding postage) will receive a gift from me too? If you use the current Hostess Code I will pop something in with your order or post directly to you. (Please remember to allow me to access your contact details otherwise I won't be able to contact you).
If your order is over £150 please don't use the code as you will receive your own Stampin' Rewards. You will still receive a card and a gift from me.
If you are local to me and can collect, I’m happy for you to piggyback one of my orders to save on postage.
Thank you for shopping with me and supporting my business.
The colours I used:
You will need:
21cm x 14.5 cm ww thick - scored at 10.5 cm
10 cm x 14 cm ww thick
Small pieces of ww thick for stamping and die cutting
The background:
I used this lovely leaf border die across the bottom of the card. I then stamped 1 large branch and added 2 smaller branch images using Soft Suede ink.
I used Pear Pizzazz for the leaves - those clever designers at SU have ensured that the leaf images fits the larger and smaller branches! I stamped the leaves at full strength and then stamped again (without reinking, off setting slightly) to create a fuller look.
I then decided to add some 'sky'. I used a Sponge Dauber and some Balmy Blue ink. I went for a soft look but you could add more ink if you prefer. The blue ink although subtle really makes everything pop. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo at this stage but you can see the 'sky' on the finished project.
The stamping and die cutting:
The little bird has been stamped with Misty Moonlight ink for a softer look. I then used Daffodil Delight ink to stamp the tummy and then Pear Pizzazz for the wing.
I suffered my usual quandary when it came to choosing the colour for the flowers. I stamped and die cut an assortment before making my final decision of Blushing Bride.
To assemble:
I used doubled sided tape to adhere two lengths of linen thread around the stamped panel. The panel and the bird have been adhered to the card base with dimensionals. I used Tombow and dimensionals to adhere the flowers.
The details:
I used some of the pretty Elegant Faceted Gems to add some muted sparkle to the flower centres. I also tied a tiny bow with linen thread and adhered with a mini glue dot.
The inside and the envelope:
I used the branches and leaves to decorate the envelope and the inside of the card.
The completed card and envelope:
I love the soft and pretty colours on this card and, you could easily add a sentiment if you needed to.
I'm really not sure what sort of bird I have created; perhaps a Green Tit or a Yellow Tit? I don't think it matters too much and, I was quite pleased with how he turned out!
I will be busy this weekend working on projects for upcoming blog hops as well as projects for next week.
I will also be prepping for my July Class In The Mail. You can find all the details HERE. Class In The Mail projects will not be featured on my blog. If you would like to receive a kit please let me know as soon as possible.
Hope you have a crafty weekend too! Stay safe and well.
