Peace & Joy - quick & simple
Hello, here are the details for a quick and simple project using the lovely Peace & Joy bundle. The inspiration for this project can be found on page 18 of the Mini Catalogue - I just made a couple of changes to the design.
Here is my project:
I believe the technique used is called the inlaid die technique.
The colours I used:
You will need:
21 cm x 14.5 cm ww thick - scored at 10.5 cm
10 cm x 14 cm thick
scraps of ww thick for stamping and fussy cutting
The background:
Stamp 'peace' and 'joy' on the thick ww panel with Misty Moonlight ink. Cut out with the coordinating dies.
The stamping and fussy cutting:
I used Garden Green and Real Red ink to stamp lots of leaves and berries onto scraps of ww thick card. The leaves are quite easy to fussy cut, the berries less so (see below)! I then stamped 'and' onto a scrap of card using Misty Moonlight ink and trimmed to a small rectangle.
To assemble:
Adhere the ww panel to the card front with dimensionals. Adhere the die cut words using Tombow, positioning carefully and pressing firmly to ensure they adhere. The 'and' has been adhered with a dimensional.
I used dimensionals to adhere the holly leaves but when it came to the berries I decided my fussy cutting was not up to scratch! So, I stamped the berries onto the panel that was already attached to the card front - not something for the feint hearted! If you are a better fussy cutter than I am you won't need to do this. It would of course, be much easier to stamp the berries before adhering the panel to the card front. I did think about using some jewels but they were a little small.
The inside/envelope:
I stamped some holly and berries onto the envelope flap and also one corner on the inside of the card.
The completed card and envelope:
Once I'd decided how I was going to recreate this project it came together very quickly and would be great for batch making.
I will be back later this week with another card using the Peace & Joy bundle, this time I will be using Misty Moonlight card stock as an alternative to more traditional Christmas colours.
