Cactus Cuties - Share It Sunday
Hello and welcome to another Share It Sunday Blog Hop - a hop without a particular theme where we share projects we are currently working. There are 32 of us hopping this time so, you might want to grab a cuppa before you start!
I confess I've had the Cactus Cuties bundle sat on my desk for quite some time now, I've just not had the time to play with it.
I love the bold images and I do like a good pun so this bundle was high on my wish list! The stamped images are slightly larger than the punch which means no white edges. These bold images can be quickly stamped for a fast card in many different colour combos. You could even leave out the pots and create your very own desert.
My daughter is a huge fan of succulents so I may well use this stamp set for her birthday card this year.
Here is my project:
A bold and vibrant project using some of my favourite colours! Cacti seem to be everywhere in the UK at the moment so this note card is right on trend!
The colours I used:
You will need:
21 cm x 14.5 cm Basic White Thick (BWT) - scored at 10.5 cm
10 cm x 14 cm BWT
Scraps of BWT for stamping and punching
The background:
I used Granny Apple Green ink to stamp the cactus on the BWT panel. I then used a blending brush to gently add Balmy Blue ink around the image.
I used a scrap of BWT to stamp the pot (Bermuda Bay) and the flowers (Melon Mambo) and punched out.
The sentiment:
I used another scrap of BWT card and stamped the sentiment using Memento ink.
To assemble:
Adhere the pot to the base of the cactus using dimensionals and then the sentiment again, using dimensionals.
Top tip:
I used snippets from the edge of the dimensional sheet to adhere the tiny flowers.
Just before adhering the panel to the card front, I decided to scuff the edges to add some texture. The panel has been adhered to the card base with dimensionals.
The inside/envelope:
I stamped pots and cacti on the inside of the card and the front of the envelope. On the inside only, I stamped and punched out a flower and adhered with a dab of Tombow.
The completed project:
I love how this project turned out, it was fun and quick to make so, I made several others using different colours. Why did I wait so long to play with this bundle?
Thanks for hopping along with us.
