In The Moment - Crafty Collaborations
Hello and welcome to a Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop. This month we are CASEing a friend - I will be using the In The Moment stamp set for my project.
CASEing stands for Copy & Selectively Edit or Copy And Share Everything. I saw a card sometime ago made by my lovely upline Liz Shannon. It made me buy the In The Moment stamp set!
This is such a lovely stamp set showing three women relaxing, indulging in a hobby and taking time for themselves - something we should all do more of! The line art images are perfect for colouring using your favourite colouring techniques.
This is the project made by Liz, coloured with the new Natural Tones Stampin' Blends.
I have seen many projects on Facebook and Pinterest but the sepia tones of this project really made me want to try this technique.
Here is my project:
I made a couple of tweaks with my project - not all of them were intentional!
The colours I used:
Unfortunately I could not find graphics for the colours of the new Natural Tones Stampin' Blends.
You will need:
21 cm x 14.5 cm Basic White Thick (BWT) - scored at 10.5 cm
10 cm x 14 cm Soft Suede
9.5 cm x 13.5 cm BWT
5.5 cm x 4 cm Soft Suede
5 cm x 3.5 cm BWT
The stamping:
I used Soft Suede to stamp the image on the BWT panel. If you prefer a softer look, you could try stamping the image using Crumb Cake or even Sahara Sand ink.
The colouring:
I think I used all of the new blends pens to colour my project. I prefer to use a lighter colour, then a darker colour and blend with the lighter colour. I had an oops moment with the sentiment but I found a way to fix it!
The hair:
I used SU300 and SU400 for the hair. I used downward flicking motions to add colour and did not (shock horror) blend!!!
To assemble:
I scuffed the edges of all the card pieces - I do like to scuff! Adhere to coloured panel to the Soft Suede panel with Tombow and then adhere to the card base with dimensionals. The sentiment has been assembled in the same way (this also fixed my oops)!
The inside/envelope:
I simply stamped the image with Soft Suede on the inside of the card and the envelope.
The details:
I did try to figure out a way to position the tiny butterflies as though they were outside the window but it looked wrong. I added three of the lovely Brushed Brass Butterflies around the sentiment (2 on and 1 off).
The completed project:
I will be making more cards using the lovely images in this stamp set, colouring with the blends. I love the way that the uncoloured white shirt appears to 'pop'. I did wonder if Liz had used a Chalk Marker but it wasn't necessary.
Thanks again to Liz for the inspiration for my project. I thought it would be fun to recreate the photo of Liz's project too! What do you think? I like it but but miss my Craftyducky not being in the photo!
These new blends pens are going to be used a lot - hair, skin tones, fur and of course sepia toned projects! Next up is Helen Jennings - I wonder who she has decided to CASE? Click the name below mine to hop over.
Thanks for hopping along with us.

ReplyDeleteLovely card Susan, love your take on it x
ReplyDeleteLove your interpretation of the card. I love your coloring. I smiled at your oops. I was at a retreat with that same stamp set and made the same oops. And, I fixed it in the same way. We stampers are so creative.
ReplyDeleteGreat use for the new blends!
