Stampin' Up! Regional Event - Telford 2015, Team Gifts
Hello, in my last post I promised I would show you what I made as gifts for my fellow team members who were able to attend this event.
I made two versions; one simply stamped and sealed and the other stamped and then 'faux silk' technique applied on top before sealing. I could not decide which I preferred. In the end, it came down to time and me leaving things until the last minute as usual so I went with the first version!
This is the version using the 'faux silk' technique - a tutorial on this can be found on my blog post from 22nd April.
Top Tips for Stamping on Tiles:
To seal and protect the tile I used a wonderful product called 'Slap It On' - yes that is really what it is called!
It can be purchased here: Slap It On
Finally, I decided this morning to produce a version using the 2015 - 2017 In Colours with the exception of Delightful Dijon.
This is the tile before it was sealed:
This is the tile immediately after it was sealed:
The sealant makes it look like all the ink has disappeared - don't panic, once it is dry you will see the images again!
And this is the finished tile:
I hope all this makes sense, but if not just let me know!
Details of products used not mentioned above can be found below.

Top Tips for Stamping on Tiles:
- wipe down with a damp cloth to remove any chalky residue and dry before stamping
- when stamping be aware that any colour ink you choose will be much paler on the finished tile
- hold the stamp block on the tile for a little longer than usual so that as much ink as possible is transferred to the tile
- if you need to re ink you stamp, clean it first so that you do not contaminate your ink pad with any remaining chalk dust
- I used a Stampin' Write Marker to add additional colour to the leaves before stamping
- dry thoroughly - I used a heat gun and allowed it to cool before sealing
- using a flat brush, apply a thin coating of Slap It On. Do not over brush as you could smudge the images
- wash your brush as soon as you have finished - otherwise it sets rock hard and ruins the brush (don't ask how I know this)!
