Vintage Leaves for a special birthday!
Hello the card I am sharing with you today is one that I made for my husband's birthday earlier this week. I know this is my third post in a row using Vintage Leaves - I'm sorry but I can't help it; I really love this set!
I have not used this technique for absolutely ages but I am really pleased at how the colour combination worked out - even my hubby commented on the vibrancy of the colours (that is unusual)!
I carefully masked off an area on my cardstock using Post It Notes before inking up some sponges and applying ink in a random fashion. The more you rub/blend the inks into the card, the better it looks! I added colour to the leaf at the same time and then cut it out using the matching Framelets. I then covered the leaf in Versamark ink and clear embossing powder before heating - the leaf in real life is beautiful and glossy but it was very, very difficult to photograph!
I also coloured one of the tiny wooden acorns from the Into The Woods Elements - so cute (and they are included in this week's Weekly Deals too).
I added a panel of Whisper White cardstock to the inside - I love Rich Razzleberry cardstock but it does not allow you to write a message on it that anyone can see easily!
Here is the finished card with its matching envelope - hope you like it as much as my husband did!
I have really had so much fun with this particular stamp set; it is definitely a firm favourite of mine. So much so in fact that I have been persuaded to do a papercraft workshop using it - details to follow shortly.
Thanks so much for looking at my Blog today, I hope you enjoyed my project; if you need any of the products to create it – I would love to be your demonstrator! Simply use my “shop with me” button or click on the catalogue links on the right. Alternatively, contact me and I would be happy to place your order for you.
All orders over £20 (excluding postage) will receive a little thank you from me if you use the current Hostess Code: TY9FN2EB (please remember to allow me to access your contact details). For orders over £150 please do not use the Hostess Code to ensure that you receive the benefits.
