Stampin' Up! - Timeless Textures

Hello, I thought I would share with you today a little project I came up with for the participants of a business course I have been doing since the start of the year.

I was asked if I would be willing to do a simple project that could be completed by stamping novices and, one that would have some element of recycling in it.

We are quite a diverse group and count amongst our members a lovely lady who hires out vintage crockery for weddings, someone who makes bespoke seat covers for bicycles  and vintage aprons and a glass painter to name a few!

One of my all time favourite stamps is Gorgeous Grunge BUT I think that the Timeless Textures set from the Spring/Summer Catalogue is about to take its place and it was this new stamp set I decided to use.

We used a favourite colour combination of mine; Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla - it reminds me of ice cream for some reason!

We used two colours of ink to stamp the background - the intention was to create a sense of depth and texture and we did this by over stamping images in the different colours:

We also scuffed up the edges of the layers to add to the texture. During the course, we have been learning about the concepts of design and I was able to explain to the others how what we were doing 'tied in' with our business course.

For the recycled elements of the card I used some old book pages (after checking carefully for inappropriate words) and some garden string that was lying about in my utility room:

We layered up four punched butterflies and added some pearls for a bit of bling!

Here is the finished card and matching envelope:

I had intended to take some photos of everyone but unfortunately I had a technical problem with my camera - if I can get hold of some that Naomi took I will post them later so that you can see how everyone got on, everyone managed to create something they were really pleased with.

Naomi is a really creative and talented artist; she had never done card making before but she enjoyed herself so much that she is coming to my next workshop so that she can have a go at die cutting!  Do you think I should warn her that stamping is totally addictive?

Thank you so much for looking at my Blog today, if you don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I would love to be yours!  If you don't have a catalogue and you would like one, please let me know and I will send one to you.

Details of the products I used to create this project can be found below.  If you need to order any supplies, simply use my “shop with me” button or click on the catalogue links on the right. Alternatively, contact me and I would be happy to place your order for you.
