Stampin' Up! meets the Women's Institute!
Hello, some of you who know me will know that I am an active member of my Local Women's Institute Group in Godmanchester. The Regional Centre for the WI is based in Huntingdon and every month a different branch is asked to be responsible for the table display in the foyer. During March it was the turn of Godmanchester. We have recently set up a second reading group and so it was agreed that this would be the theme of of display.
I made some little tags that I intended to attach to some green ribbon with mini pegs and hang around the table edge but when myself and friend arrived we discovered that there was a perfect place to put the bunting - along the transom (think that is the correct word) of the window!
I made a book mark too in the the colours of the WI (well as close as I could get) as part of the display along with some cards detailing thoughts and opinions on the books that had been read.
We received lots of positive comments from visitors who enjoyed the display which was lovely. Here is a photo of the display. It was in a tricky place to get a good angle and then a lady parked outside the window so, it was a challenging photo to take!
Our second reading group is meeting this evening and so I decided to make some book marks for all of us. I used some old book pages to stamp on after having carefully checked the content! I added a little flower as an accent and had to resist the temptation to add a sparkly jewel in the centre as I felt it might damage the book pages.
Here is a close up the bunting which was great fun to make:
We are reading The Lady In The Van by Alan Bennett. I chose this book as I had seen the film (twice) and loved it but, I have to say, I am not enjoying the book as much as I thought I would!
Thank you so much for looking at my Blog today, if you don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I would love to be yours! If you don't have a catalogue and you would like one, please let me know and I will send one to you.
Details of the products that were used to create these projects can be found below. If you need to order any supplies, simply use my “shop with me” button or click on the catalogue links on the right. Alternatively, contact me and I would be happy to place your order for you.
All orders over £20 (excluding postage) will receive a little thank you from me if you use the current Hostess Code: 6DGYXNXX (please remember to allow me to access your contact details otherwise I won't be able to contact you).
For orders over £150 please do not use the Hostess Code to ensure that you receive the benefits.
