Team Creative Challenge!

Hello, some of you may know that I belong to a lovely team of stampers called the Stampin' STYlettes - this month I have somehow managed to find the time to enter a team challenge!!

This is what we were given as a starting point for our design:

Rules
  • Interpret the layout as you see fit.
  • You may change the shape and/or orientation of the card.
  • The shapes are a general guide for layers, sentiments or embellishment layout.
Some of my fellow crafty team members have already produced some amazing designs but, me being short of time (as usual) I decided to take the challenge quite literally.

The first thing I did was to choose my colours - I used Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red.

I started with a base of Shimmer White Cardstock and spritzed lightly with some water.  I then took an Aqua Painter and smooshed a little of each colour ink across my card.  I then spritzed the card again to enable some ink to run a little bit.

After leaving it to dry (or you could give it a quick blast with a heat gun instead) I used the matching Swirly Scribbles Thinlets Dies and coordinating cardstock to cut these out:

Those of you who are planning to come to my catalogue launch party on the 8th June will have a chance to play with the stamps and matching dies - if you ask nicely, I might give you a sneaky peak later on this week .....

I used another brilliant product that is launching in the new Annual Catalogue at the beginning of June - Foam Adhesive Strips.  Not the most exciting product in the catalogue I know but, they are so VERY useful and I will be using them lots!! I cut tiny slivers off:

I layered the swirls on my base and assembled my card using a Pacific Point card blank.

Here is the completed card:

And these are part of the waste:

Well, I couldn't possibly throw them away could I?  So, I used them on my insert:

What do you think?  Does my card look like the image at the top of my post?  I would love you to leave a comment below  :)

Thank you so much for looking at my Blog today, if you don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I would love to be yours!  If you don't have a catalogue and you would like one, please let me know and I will send one to you.

I have not added details of the products I used today as some of them are not available until the beginning of June!  If you need to order any supplies, simply use my “shop with me” button or click on the catalogue links on the right. 1. Looks good. The Olympic rings spang to mind - not sure what it says about the state of my mind though.
