Stampin' Up! Oh So Eclectic stepped up

Hello, here are the details of the second project for this week using Oh So Eclectic.  This week I showed my crafty ladies a couple of different ways to use the Eclectic Thinlets.  We made our own stencils which we used to create a background for our cards and I also showed them a way to 'release' elements from the die cut to use as an accent on the card front.

We used the window sheets to create our stencils.  It is important to use the correct 'sandwich' with the Big Shot when cutting window sheets ...

In this example I used the Big Shot standard Platform with the Thin Die Adaptor ...

Unfortunately this combo did not manage to cut through the window sheet.

I got a much better result when I used the Precision Base Plate!

Be warned:
The window sheet makes a terrible noise whilst it is being cut!

Top Tip:
I placed a small piece of tape on my stencil so that I knew which side needed cleaning after use!

For this card we used the amazing stamps in this set to create two different flowers - I love these stamps!!!

Look at the texture and colour variation on this flower - all achieved with a single stamp in each colour!

The first time I stamped with this flower I squealed with delight.  I warned all my crafty ladies to be prepared to be impressed and there were!

There are matching Thinlets to cut out each flower too - not everyone likes fussy cutting!

You can just see the gold accent peeking out behind the flower - some simple snipping 'released' a strip of diamonds for us to use as a highlight.

We used a Sponge Dauber to add some ink to the stencil - it is so easy to add shade and highlights to create a simple and effective background.

I try to get the most out of my Stampin' Up! products and like to find different ways of using things.

I really enjoyed making this card and hope to find time to play with all the other stamps in this set - there are some interesting little background stamps that I need to experiment with ...

As one lady commented on Monday, these flowers would look great stamped in red; they would look like poppies -  I think they would also make lovely backgrounds too.

Here is the completed card and envelope.
