Stampin' Up! This Little Piggy - stepped up

Hello, despite the heat (again) today we had so much fun creating these cute piggy cards.

We used a simple watercolour wash technique to create a background.  It is such a simple way to create a unique piece every single time.

All you need to remember is dampen the watercolour card with plain water before you start to add colour.  If you like, you can use a scrunched up piece of tissue to create some clouds.  If you look closely at the photo below, above the white cloud and slight to the left, you can just about see a lighter shade of sky where I removed some of the ink.

I knew as soon as I saw this stamp set that I had to use this little piggy; I regularly experienced the phenomenon of pigs flying past the windows in several previous jobs!  The sentiment we used is very motivational I think and would be suitable for many occasions, not least when a young lady is celebrating her exam results!  I need at least three such cards this Summer!

We used a simple technique to stamp our piggy with the Stampin' Write Marker Pens (Pool Party and Flirty Flamingo).  Colouring the image with the two pens is less harsh than stamping the outline in black (or grey) ink.

We used the Aqua Painters to add some colour and then a final touch of Wink of Stella for a bit of added sparkle on the wings!  When doing this technique, you need to be careful not to brush over the outlines too much as they will disappear.  If you do this you can use the fine tip of the Stampin' Write Marker to add the detail again so all is not lost!

This little piggy had a touch of sunburn ...
