Stampin' Up! Christmas Pines - quick & simple
Hello, here are the details for our quick & simple project using Christmas Pines.
I used the Pine Bough TIEF lots of times last year and I confess I was somewhat mystified when Stampin' Up! added it to the retirement list.
However, the good news is that it is still available on the Clearance Rack at the bargain price of just £3.50 (a 50% discount)!
The TIEF goes so well with Christmas Pines that I just had to use it to create the background for this quick & simple card. You can just see the depth and texture that you can achieve with the embossing folder.
The die cut tag was made with one of the dies from Lots of Labels - I have not used these particular Framelits very much - shame on me! I always seem to reach for the Stitched Shape Framelits as you probably know but, I am trying to cure that particular addiction!
The Pretty Pines Thinlets are so clever, not only do you get three different pine cone dies you also get a base layer in the set too. Here I have cut the base in Pool Party and then the top layer in Silver Metallic Foil - stunning!
One of the things I love best about SU is the easy coordination! A simple sentiment from Year of Cheer stamped in Pool Party and some Star Dust Stickles Glitter Glue to one of the die cuts provides the finishing touches.
Here is the completed card and envelope, of course the inside and the envelope have been stamped with a couple of pine boughs in Pool Party too!
After I finished this project I wondered what it would look like in a more traditional colour scheme, so I made one!
I used Garden Green ink and card stock and used gold metallic foil with Gold Stickles Glitter Glue for a bit of extra sparkle.
Here is the completed card and envelope.
As usual, I really like both cards but I prefer the Pool Party version the most. Which is your favourite? I would love you to leave a comment below ...
I used some retired Kraft card for my project but you could use Crumb Cake instead.
I have two further Coffee & Cards sessions available this week if you would like to join me to make this and another project, you can find the details here.
If you came to Coffee & Cards last week, don't forget to post a picture of your completed card on my facebook page by the 4th November for your chance to win a duo pack of the new Stampin' Blends - good luck!
Details of the products I used for this project can be found below.
Hope you can join me for some crafty fun soon.
