Stampin' Up Christmas Pines - stepped up

Hello, here are the details for our second project this week using Christmas Pines.

I saw a stunning card on Pineterest ages ago, designed by a fellow SU Demo called Sabrina who lives in Victoria, British Columbia.  Sabrina  has very kindly given me permission to recreate her card and to share it with my crafty ladies.  You can see Sabrina's card here.

I was so pleased that I even had the retired ribbon that Sabrina had used but you could use any that you have in your crafty stash.  The only change I did make was to use Pool Party instead of Soft Sky just because Pool Party is one of my favourite colours!

I stamped my background using Whisper White Craft ink using the oh so useful background stamp in the Christmas Pines stamp set - hopefully you can see the tiny stars and dots in the photo below.

I used one of the pine bough stamps with the Pool Party ink and the other with Versamark and the Silver Embossing Powder.

The pine cone dies in this set are one of my all time favourites - I will not be parting with them if/when they retire.

I cut the base of the pine cone in Pool Party and the detailed layer in silver foil.  I used mini glue dots to create the ripples in the ribbon which gives such a pretty effect and, one that my crafty ladies certainly enjoyed this week.

The inside was also decorated to match and I used one of the sentiments too - not normally something I do as I prefer to write my own messages but I do like this sentiment.

Here is the completed card and the envelope which was decorated to match the inside.

Thanks once again to Sabrina for allowing me to share her stunning card - I am pleased to say that everyone who join me for a Coffee & Card session this week loved this project too!

Here are a few of the cards made this week Sabrina, I hope you approve!

I usually take a couple of options with me to Coffee & Cards sessions; different sentiments, ribbons etc and this week was no different.

Here is a card made with Pool Party Ribbon instead of silver - so pretty!

Next week for Coffee & Cards we will be using a stamp set called Star of Light; we will be stamping and die cutting and using a rather unusual colour scheme (more on that later)!

I am very much looking forward to my Christmas Project Day on Saturday - I have a couple of places available if anyone would be interested in joining us for some festive crafty fun, please message me for details.

Hope you have a crafty weekend!

Susan xx
