Stampin' Up! Swirly Scribbles meet Pretty Pines - a stepped up project!

Hello, here are the details for the second project this week using the Swirly Bird and Pretty Pines Thinlits.

Lots of die cutting for this project and, although there is a lot of sparkle on this card I do think it would be suitable for the men in our lives.  What do you think?  I would love you to leave a comment below.

I could not resist the temptation to use Gorgeous Grunge for this project.  It is my absolute favourite stamp set.  For some foolish reason I let it go to one of my team members in June and oh how I regretted it!  However, one of my lovely crafty ladies found one for sale online and bought it for me as a thank you gift - how lucky am I?  I will not be parting with it again I promise you!!!

I used Gorgeous Grunge with some Versamark ink and some silver embossing powder to create my background.

As the mixed metal trend continues still I used anything metallic I could find in my craft room - gold, silver and copper!

I toned it down a little with the addition of some white elements.

I used some copper embossing powder on my sentiment which is from a stamp set called Cheers to the Years.

Here is the completed card and envelope - we used Smoky Slate ink to decorate the inside and the envelope with some splatters.

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week, especially the two new ladies!  I will be back to my usual three sessions next week.

I will be taking part in another Stampers by the Dozen blog hop at the weekend and will be using products from the Merry Little Christmas Suite - I got to choose the topic this month too!!!

I received an amazing swap at On Stage last weekend using the Merry Little Labels stamp set so we will have a go at recreating the swap next week for Coffee & Cards.

Hope you have a crafty weekend!

Susan xx

  1. This is one of my top favorite Christmas cards I've seen this year. I'm a Swirly Scribbles and Gorgeous Grunge fan, too. I'll never part with them. This is definitely going in my CASE-it file. Thanks for the lovely inspiration piece.
