Stampin' Up! Lilypad Lake - stepped up

Hello, here are the details for the second project this week using Lilypad Lake.

I knew that this particular stamp set would be versatile - I used it for another project this week at the care home I visit - everyone loved it.  If I get chance, I will take a photograph and share soon.

I'm not sure what I was thinking of doing heat embossing whilst it is so hot but these images look amazing embossed with silver Stampin' Emboss Powder.

The images have been coloured with the Stampin' Blends.

Top Tip
Please take care when colouring embossed images; if you go over the embossing it will damage the nibs of your pens!

We decided yesterday that this heron could pass for a stork for a new baby card if it was coloured appropriately.  What do you think, would it work?

Unfortunately this particular heron is missing the end of his beak - oops!

We  die cut a panel of Blueberry Bushel and adhered to the front of the card trimming off the overhang on each side.

Here is the completed card and envelope.

My first attempt at decorating the envelope did not go so well.

I decided that I did not like the die cut leaves so I had another attempt - this one I like much better!

I used some additional stamps from a set called Fabulous Flamingo.

The water has been stamped in Blueberry Bushel, stamped off and the leaves stamped in Old Olive, full strenght ink.  I like this envelope much better!  I also decorated the inside of the card in the same way.

Although I added a sentiment to my project many of the ladies who crafted with me this week choose to leave their cards blank as they felt they could be used for many different occassions.

It has been unusually hot here in the UK again with temperatures of 33 degrees yesterday and a promised 38 degrees today, it is far too hot for me!  So, thanks to everyone who joined me for a long, cool drink and some crafty fun this week.

Next week we will be making Christmas Cards using a stamp and framelit bundle that is a real favourite of mine - Christmas Pines.
