Stampin' Up! Colour Challenge for Global Stamping Friends

Hello and welcome to another Global Stamping Friends blog hop!  This month our theme this month is a colour challenge.  I am so excited to be taking part as this is my first ever colour challenge hop!

If you have joined me from Karie or you are starting here with me, welcome!  I am delighted to be following Karie - we regularly hop together as part of Stampers by the Dozen.  Why not grab a cuppa and hop around with us for lots of inspiration?  I can't wait to see everyone else has made!

Here are the colours we have been asked to use for our challenge.

I decided to use one of the bundles from the Annual Catalogue - Rooted In Nature.

I was drawn to this stamp set by the skeleton leaf images in this set.  When I started crafting many, many years ago skeleton leaves were all the rage!

I used the Call Me Clover embossing powder to create some leaves - so glossy and pretty but very difficult to photograph!

I created a card base with Call Me Clover and added a Whisper White panel 5mm smaller.  I used Dimensionals to adhere the panel to the card front.

I used the Stamparatus for my sentiment as I wanted an intense black image - I inked the stamp up twice to achieve the desired result.

I looked around my crafty stash for some black ribbon and realised I did not have any.  However, I found some Black Cord (from the Painted Glass Suite). It's shiny and lovely and I think it looks like liquorice don't you?

Top Tip
Give this cord a really firm 'snap' to fix your bow in place otherwise it will slacken!

I arranged the leaves around the sentiment and used Tombow and Dimensionals to adhere them.

As a final nod to the black in the challenge I used the Sprig Punch to add some extra foliage.  I have a feeling I will be using this punch a lot in the coming months!

A couple of my crafty ladies pulled a face when I mentioned the colours I would be using for this hop - hopefully they will change their minds about Call Me Clover after our hop this month ...

I added a trio of jewels as a final touch for a little bit of sparkle.

The inside of the the card has a stamped border too.

Once I had finished this project I kept going and made some more cards - I think I quite like this colour combo!

I have certainly enjoyed my first colour challenge hop - I would love you to leave a comment to let me know what you think of this project.

Next up is Anja who I am sure has something wonderful to share with you too.  If you get lost along the way a list of participants can be found below along with details of the products I used for this project.

Happy crafting!
