Stampin' Up! - Holiday Catalogue Stamp 'N Hop Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another Stamp 'N Hop!  If you have joined me from Danielle or are starting here, welcome - I hope you find lots of inspiration.

This month our brief is to use anything for the 2018 Autumn / Winter Catalogue.

I found myself very short on time recently and I seriously thought about missing this hop.  Then I thought to myself that everyone is short on time especially in the run up to Christmas and, what would I tell one of my customers to do if they needed some cards in a hurry?  A project kit that's what!

These elegant cards take just minutes to stamp and assemble and there are the most gorgeous gold foiled envelopes in this kit too.

I love the colours in this kit - so Christmassy!

To complete the kit you will need the following items:

  • Adhesive - I used Tombow and Dimensionals.
  • Jet Black Stazon Ink
  • Timeless Tidings stamps
There are some lovely images (I have plans for the tiny tree) in this set and the sentiments are just right - I'm not a fan of 'mushy' sentiments!

Each kit comes with instructions.

Top Tip
Read the instructions!

I like to sort out all the elements for each card first.

Top Tip

When you pop out the die cut elements they sometimes have tiny 'pips' where they were connected to the larger sheet.  Run your finger nail over the 'pip' to remove.  Alternatively you can carefully snip them off.

Now you can have fun assembling your cards.

Did I mention that it is a good idea to read the instructions?

Three of the cards have guidelines printed on them; this is to show where to adhere the foiled border strips.

The borders should be placed on the line not above (I should have read the instructions)!!

Now I had an couple of issues with the foiled elements in this kit.  They are lovely; so intricate.  I attempted to pop out the tiny die cut pieces with my poky tool but of course they are also sticky and I ended up in a bit of a mess.

Top Tip

As you slowly lift each sticker, use your poky tool to prod each tiny piece so that it remains stuck on the sheet.  Much, much easier this way!

I might even find a use for those tiny pieces left behind ...

Once I had figured this out I finished the cards in no time at all.  The kit also includes green and champagne coloured jewels!

This particular card is my favourite.

Did I mention the envelopes?  I initially thought that they were just foiled in gold but no, Stampin' Up! have done it again!

Have a look at the insides - love this a lot, I did not notice them on the photo in the catalogue at all!

I was really pleased with the finished cards.  I will be ordering a few further kits as these cards will be perfect for the ladies I craft with each week in a local care home.

If you are like me and short on time, I would definitely recommend that you give one of the project kits a go - they are a great way to make a speedy stack of cards just make sure you read the instructions!

Don't forget to leave a comment below - I love to read what you think of my projects.  Details of the items I used for this project can be found below.

Next up is Pia who I am sure has something lovely to share with you.

Happy crafting and thanks for hopping along with us!
