Stampin' Up! Joy Of Sets Blog Hop - Autumn/Winter Catalogue
Hello, I am delighted to be hopping again with the lovely ladies from Joy Of Sets.
If you are joining me from Liza or starting here with me, welcome - I'm sure you find lots of lovely inspiration. This month our theme is anything from the Autumn / Winter Catalogue.
Although we have started making Christmas cards at my Coffee & Cards sessions I'm not quite totally in the mood for Christmas just yet!
So, I decided to use a stamp set that can be found on page 47 called Making Every Day Bright.
These versatile little stamps are suitable for many occasions - anything from Easter to Halloween and then Christmas. There are also a couple of everyday stamps in there too.
I decided to use the feather - there are two stamps that make up the image; the outline and an infill stamp.
These are the colours I chose for my project.
I stamped the feather outline in Black Memento and then used Tranquil Tide for the infill.
There is even a punch to coordinate with the stamp set!
However, for these tiny feathers I did do a little bit of fussy cutting to trim the ends to a point.
I decided to add a little bit of sparkle to the feathers using Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.
Top Tip
Before using this all purpose ink be sure to give the bottle a good shake.
I used a fine tip brush to add shimmer to areas of the feather - photo taken out of focus so that you can see the lovely shimmer you get with thsese paints.
I cut some 3" x 3" cards and decided to use my favourite Stitched Shape Framelits - I use these all the time!
I created a little background colour with an image from a stamp set called Love What You Do. If you don't have this particular stamp set Stampin' Up! have several other smooshy background stamps you could use or, you could create your own watercolour background.
I used Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the feathers and added some jewels for even more sparkle.
I used a tiny thank you sentiment from a set called Thoughtful Banners.
I am busy preparing items for a craft fair at the moment so I though these little 3" x 3" cards would look lovely with a coordinating gift box.
Stampin' Up! Mini Pizza Boxes are perfect for 3" x 3" cards.
I coloured mine with a Sponge Brayer with some Mint Macaron ink - the white was a bit bright for me!
I made a simple belly band with a strip of Mint Macaron cardstock and decorated with some extra feathers.
Here are the cards and the box together.
I got a bit carried away with myself and made several other sets too - here are a couple of them.
I also used the Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint ... if you are careful you can use it for stamping. I hope you can see the sparkle on the image below.
This set is such great value for money as there is also another stamp set that coordinate with the punch called Making Christmas Bright - I will be using this set next week for my Coffee & Cards sessions.
Thanks for hopping along with us, next up is Kim who I am sure has something fabulous to share with you. Don't forget to leave a comment below - I would love to know what you think of my projects.
