Stampers Showcase Blog Hop - 3d project

Hello, my name is Susan aka Craftyduckydodah! and I live in beautiful Godmanchester in Cambridgeshire, UK.  I am delighted this month to be joining a group of Demonstrators from around the world for the Stampers Showcase blog hop!

If you are starting here with me or joining me from the very talented Leonie, welcome - I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop around with us.

This month our theme is 3d - I love making 3d objects!  The project I am sharing today is one I made for my Annual Catalogue launch event earlier this month.

I came across this MDF Memo Board several months ago - I was just waiting for the right project to give me an opportunity to use it.

I used a turquoise paint to add colour and then when it was dry I decided it was too bright.  To tone it down a little I used some pale blue paint to give a sort of shabby, aged look to the shutters.

I applied the pale blue paint with a sponge to give a chalky finish.

As soon as I saw the Magnolia Lane Suite in the Annual Catalogue I had an idea that would be perfect for my little memo board.

I cut out an assortment of petals using standard Whisper White card stock.

Using a Sponge Dauber I gently added some So Saffron ink to the centre of the petals.

I then curled and shaped the petals and assembled my flowers.

The smaller flowers have just two layers of petals that were cut with the smallest die.

For the larger petals I cut one large flower and two smaller ones.

The flowers have been assembled with Tombow and the petals slightly offset for each layer.  The flower centre has been cut from So Saffron card and adhered with a mini dimensional.  I added one of the lovely clear faceted gems to the centre of each flower for a bit of sparkle.

The branches have been cut from Soft Suede with a die that can be found in the Seasonal Layers die set.

Here is the finished memo board.

The shutters open to reveal a magnetic sheet that is perfect for those little reminders or, in this instance, the dies I used to create the flowers!

Thanks to Dana for organising the hop and answering my silly question at the 11th hour!  I look forward to hopping with Stampers Showcase again soon.  I would love you to leave a comment to let me know what you think of my project.

Details of the products I used for this project can be found below.

Happy hopping!
