Stampin' Up! Stampers by the Dozen 10/18
Hello, I am hopping again today with the talented ladies from Stampers by the Dozen. This month our theme is a colour challenge and was chosen by Dena.
If you are starting here with me, or hopping on from Judi and her lovely project, welcome - I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop along with us.
Here are the colours we were asked to use.
Now I thought about this colour combo for some time but given that I had less than 24 hours to create a project, photograph it and write a blog post I decided to use a stamp set from the Annual Catalogue that I hadn't yet used - Stitched All Around.
Initially I pulled out all the ink pads in these colours but at the last minute I changed my mind and decided to keep things simple!
There is a coordinating Framelit set for this stamp set (available as a bundle = 10% saving). I'm not big on sewing, in fact I will do anything to avoid it! (I have been known to stick a hem with glue dots before now too as I fly out of the door)! However, the Stitched Label Framelits have all the stitches this girl needs!
There are some lovely labels in this set but the stitched texture die is my favourite.
To carry on with the stitched theme I added some Silver Metallic Thread. I placed a glue dot onto the background and wrapped some thread around three fingers - five times. I then scrunched the thread up a little and placed onto the glue dot.
I then used Pool Party, Poppy Parade and Whisper White card to cut out other elements using the Framelits.
I stamped a simple sentiment across one of the pieces using Black Memento ink.
I used Mini Dimensionals to adhere all the different pieces and added a single jewel as a finishing touch.
I used a tiny heart stamp from a set called Tabs for Everything and some So Saffron ink to complete this colour challenge.
The inside of the card was decorated to match - some die cutting and stamping.
As I had some leftover die cuts I decided to decorate the flap on the envelope too. (I added some Tombow to just the top half of the Pool Party die cut).
Here is the completed card and envelope.
I can't wait to see what the rest of the team have made with this challenge - thanks again to Dena for choosing our theme this month. Next up is Tricia - click the link below to see what she has has been up to. If you get lost along the way a list of participants can be found below.
Happy hopping - don't forget to leave a comment before you go, I love to read what you think of my projects!
