Stampin' Up! Review of 2018 - part IV
Hello, welcome back to the final part of my review of 2018 - keep reading to the end of this post for details of a fabulous giveaway!
October
A new product launched in the Autumn / Winter catalogue - just a small photo on page 38 that could so easily have been missed. The Shimmer Paint (in 4 stunning colours) is such a versatile product. These little pots of sparkly loveliness can be used for painting, stamping, splatters and so much more. I used it to create the splatters on the project below that I created for a Stamp 'N Hop blog hop this month. You can see the completed project HERE.
I also used the Shimmer Paint for my Christmas cards this year with another new item - the Take Your Pick Tool.
I never thought that anything would ever take the place of my trust pokey tool but the Take Your Pick has. Have you got yours yet? The tacky putty tip is my new best friend!
November
November was a memorable month for me - several of my team of ducklings were able to join me at an OnStage event for the first time! We had a fabulous time and I was so pleased that they were able to join me and share in the excitement. We have our next trip for April 2019 already planned!!
An unexpected, but delightful surprise this month was to discover that I was ranked number 48 out of all the Demonstrators in the UK. Of course this would not have been possible without the help and support of my fabulous ducklings and everyone who crafts or orders through me - I just can't thank you enough!
November also saw me run my most popular workshop of 2015 no less that 6 times! I had a twinkling of an idea after reading the caption under a photo in the Autumn / Winter catalogue on page 29. I then saw a fabulous tutorial that a fellow Demonstrator, Patricia Todd shared on a facebook group for Demonstrators and this what spurred me on to create my own version of her project.
Two of my team members took orders for further wreaths and one of my friends ran a workshop with a version of this wreath as well as taking orders for kits and completed projects too!
Isn't it wonderful how such a simple idea can be so inspiring? #lovemyjob!
November also saw me trying to complete a personal challenge to finish some of the Tombow glue I had on the go ! I still have three left to use up ...
I also realised that I was hanging on to too many retired stamp sets after I spent an afternoon looking for a particular set.
I will be having a BOGOF sale in January - watch out for details (as soon as I get myself organised that is)!
December
By now we had been making Christmas cards for several weeks but I thought it was about time that we made a really special card at one of our Coffee & Cards sessions - a bendy card using Dashing Deer. The project was available in a choice of two colours. I made the Gray Granite version for my son Christoper.
The Mint Macaron version was for my daughter Rosie.
Finally, I would like to thank one of my crafty ladies - she always keeps me on my toes even though she is 81 years old!
She bought a bundle called Farmhouse Christmas and challenged me to use it for a Coffee & Cards session. At the time, I didn't have this bundle so she let me use hers.
This is one of the projects we made. I was so pleased with how it turned out that I bought the bundle myself!
Sometimes it is good to be pushed out of your comfort zone - thank you, you lovely lady (you know who you are)!!
Phew that is almost it. 2018 has been a very difficult year for me personally what with a close family bereavement, several trips to Birmingham with my daughter to see a specialist, selling my home (twice), moving (packing up my craft room), getting divorced and having a major health scare to round the year off with. Thankfully I will live to craft another day and I am really looking forward to a brand new year. I have lots of exciting things to share with you and who knows what the future will bring!
I mentioned in my previous post that I have been having a bit of a tidy up in my craft room ... I filled not one but two of my usual wallets and then needed a bigger 'something' to put everything in!
If you would like a chance to win this box of goodies, scraps, ribbon remnants, embossed pieces, die cuts, DSP and more all you have to do is leave a comment to tell me which has been your favourite project of 2018. You can leave a comment at the bottom of this post and / or on my facebook page and, you can leave as many comments as you like. Each comment will be given a number, I will use a random number generator to find the winner. You must be able to collect your box of scraps from me; the sooner the better please!
I will announce the winner on the 3rd of January when I post my Update for the new year.
I can't wait to see which are your favourite projects - good luck everyone!
Susan xx

I think one of my favourite Coffee & Cards projects for 2018 was the final one - perhaps it was just the perfect antidote to Christmas? I loved the simple combination of Night of Navy and Whisper White with just a hint of sparkle from the fabulous Wink of Stella using an Hostess Only stamp set called Very Vintage.
