Stampin' Up! Stampers by the Dozen 12/18

Hello, I am hopping again today for the last time for 2018 with the talented ladies from Stampers by the Dozen.  If you have hopped over from Judi or you are starting here with me, welcome - I hope you enjoy our projects.  This month our theme is anything but Christmas!

Whilst at OnStage at the beginning of November I met up with Zoe who is a friend of mine and a fellow Demonstrator.  I met Zoe at my very first OnStage in April 2015 and we always find each other at these events so that we can swap.

This year Zoe was asked to do an on stage presentation using a lovely new bundle called Needle and Thread and she had used this bundle to make her swaps.

I was very lucky to receive one of her cards as she only made 17 of them this year!

This gorgeous bundle allows you to create the look of handcrafted embroidery with little effort - I learnt many years ago that sewing and I do not get along but even I can get the look with these stamps!

I decided that I would re create a version of Zoe's lovely project for you but give it my own twist (CASE).

I decided to use colours from the DSP that will be available as part of the Needle Point Nook Suite from the 3rd January.

The starting point for my card was one of the dies that cuts a stitched image into the card which was then adhered to my card base with Dimensionals.  I do seem to have a bit of a thing for white layers/space on cards.

I then had some fun with the stamps and the framelits.  I spent some time arranging and rearranging all my pieces; some were adhered with Dimensionals and others with Tombow to create lots of layers.

As a final touch I placed a couple of jewels in the centre of two flowers and on each end of my sentiment.

Such a pretty card (I think) - it will be on its way in the morning to a friend who has been a bit poorly recently but is now thankfully on the mend.

The inside of the card was stamped to coordinate.

Here is the completed card and envelope.

Here is a photo of Zoe's and my card side by side; similar but different!

Thanks again to Zoe for swapping with me - I always find her work inspiring - you can see her original project HERE on her blog.

I can't wait to create more projects with this bundle - so many ideas, so little time!

Next up is Tricia who I know will have something lovely to share with you too.  Don't forget to leave a comment - I love to read what you think of my projects.

I will be hopping again with Stampers by the Dozen in 2019 when we have lots of exciting hops planned already!

Happy crafting!

Susan

    1. Thanks Tricia - me too. I recently found out that some clever person actually stitched the designs and then they were photographed. Explains why the DSP (at least) looks so realistic!
