Telford 2019 swaps
Hello, now that I am back from attending OnStage at the weekend I can share details of the swaps I made.
I love attending OnStage events and always look forward to swapping with other Demonstrators.
This year, I made an attempt to be organised by working on my swaps early for a change.
I saw these pretty chocolates online and thought they would be a perfect little treat.
Of course when they arrived I realised I had no idea what to do with them. The sat in a box under my desk for at least two weeks and then inspiration struck.
I have made these little treat pockets many times before as treats for workshop attendees. They are also really useful to hand out to people you meet as a little thank you gift or to explain what it is you actually do! I use them as a business builder, they are very simple to make and you can get 4 of them from a single 6 x 6" sheet of DSP.
Making the pouches ...
Using a piece 3 x 3" of DSP from the Brights DSP stack and the Envelope Punch Board, punch and score at the 1.5" mark. Rotate 90 degrees and line up with the score line, punch and score again. Repeat on all sides - simple!
Sixty squares of DSP later along with 120 punched circles ...
To assemble to pouches I did not score the lines as I needed to allow room for the chocolates. Loosely folding the creases leaves enough room for the chocolates.
Once the chocolates were in place, fold in the two flaps on each side and then the bottom one. I adhered the third flap with a mini glue dot.
Now all I needed to do was find a way to close the pouches that allowed them to be opened with ripping/ruining them.
Did you know?
Tombow glue is multipurpose glue - brilliant for a quick and permanent stick but also very useful for repositional gluing too!
I placed a small dot of Tombow on the point of each flap and left it to dry.
Drying takes around 20 minutes or so. You can tell when the glue is dry as it turns translucent.
I then assembled my little toppers stamping 'hello' using a stamp from Eastern Beauty. I then stamped and punched out 60 butterflies and added a jewel to the centre of each one for a bit of sparkle.
I adhered the topper with Tombow and then pressed the flap to seal with the now dry and repositionable Tombow!
I am pleased to say I actually finished my swaps several days before OnStage which was much better than the usual night before!
Thanks to everyone who swapped with me - I received some amazing swaps in return. I will share pictures of the swaps I received as soon as I have taken photos.
Lucky me gets the chance to do this all over again in November at the next OnStage event!
Details of the products I used for my swaps can be found below.
Happy crafting.
