Good Morning Magnoila - SBTD 06/19

Hello and welcome to another Stampers By The Dozen Blog hop!  If you are joining me from Judi or starting here with me, I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop around with us.

This month our theme is something old, something new.

I actually made this project several weeks ago - it was the make and take project at my Annual Catalogue launch event last week.  It fits perfectly with our theme this month which was an added bonus for me as I was short on time as usual!

The 'new' part of our challenge is a stamp called Good Morning Magnolia - I think it is my favourite bundle in the new catalogue.

My 'old' part of this months challenge is the leaf punch.  I love this punch, it is so useful and, it coordinates with several images in the current catalogue too.

Here are the colours I used for my project.

With all the stunning new products in the Annual Catalogue it is easy to over look certain items.  One of which is is the Memories and More large cards and envelopes that are part of the Magnolia Lane Suite.

I love these large kraft cards - the foiling on the front and the envelope and, most of all the envelope liners!  I was tempted to not use the liner and save it for another project ...

My project started with some simple stamping using a stamp set I received at OnStage way back in April called Woven Heirlooms.

I used the border stamp to add some detail to my card panel using Sahara Sand ink using both first and second generation stamping.  The sentiment, from the same set has been stamped in Early Espresso ink.

I used my Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker to add to flecks to the background too.

Top Tip

Use the brush tip end and the lid of the pen to flick splodges of ink.  You can create some interesting effects with this technique.

The magnolia flower has been stamped onto a scrap of card and cut out with the coordinating die and was coloured
 Stampin' Blends.

I used some of this gorgeous ribbon, also from the Perennial Essence Suite, wrapping around the panel before adhering onto the card front with dimensionals.

I used the leaf punch with some of the new Petal Pink vellum that can be found as part of the Perennial Essence Suite (Page 107).  The leaf has been adhered behind the magnolia flower with a dimensional and then adhered to the card.

I stamped a single flower on the inside of the card - not sure why I did not add some flecks of ink or, perhaps some splodges in Petal Pink as I did with the project in my previous post ... so many ideas, so little time!
