Free As A Bird - Christmas in July stepped up
Here are the details for our final Christmas in July project using a stamp set called Free As A Bird.
Today has officially been almost the hottest day ever at 37.1 degrees just 0.1 degree short of the highest recorded temperature in Britain. Not the best week to be making Christmas cards is it? My new best friend is a Dyson fan on setting number 10!!
This project started with a lovely new 3d embossing folder called Scripty - isn't that a great name? The detail on this folder is so good that you can even read the script!
We embossed a panel of Whisper White (thick) that was 5mm smaller than the card base. The panel was adhered to the card base with dimensionals.
We used one of my favourite Stitched Shape dies to create a panel, using an Aqua Painter and some Balmy Blue ink to create a simple water colour background.
The little bird has been stamped in Memento and coloured with the Stampin' Blends, fussy cut out and adhered to the panel with dimensionals.
We used one of he words that can be found in a die set called Merry Christmas, cutting it from a piece of gold foil.
It was carefully adhered to the panel with tiny dabs of Tombow.
We then punched out some sprigs from Garden Green and Old Olive. We added some pearls as a finishing touch. The sentiment is from a stamp set called Merry Christmas To All has been stamped onto a strip of card and tucked under the sprigs.
The inside of the card (and the envelope) have been stamped with a single bird in Crumb Cake ink for a softer look.
Here is the completed card and envelope.
Thanks to everyone who joined me this week for some festive crafty fun in such hot weather! We will be back to normal next week!
I am busy prepping my pre order from the upcoming Autumn/Winter catalogue that will be available at the beginning of September - so many lovely new items that will be available soon that I can't wait to share with everyone.
I will post details of the projects for next week over the weekend.
Happy crafting!
