Nine lives - Stampers By The Dozen 09/19
Hello and welcome to another Stampers By The Dozen Blog Hop! If you have hopped over from Judi or starting here with me, I hope you enjoy the inspiration we have to share with you this month.
This month we have been asked to use our favourite Halloween stamp set or bundle from the Autumn / Winter catalogue.
Hmmm - I had a problem with this as we are not big on Halloween in the UK and I confess, I don't have a single stamp set!
However, not one give up on a challenge I had a look at what I did have that could conceivably be used for Halloween.
I drew a blank with my stamp sets but then came across this punch.
Then I had a light bulb moment - I realised I had a stamp set that coordinated with the punch!
Now all I needed was a super quick project because as usual, I had left things to the last minute.
I came across a box of items that I had received as swaps at various Stampin' Up! On Stage events and found something that was made by Rosie Minors.
Once I figured out how to make these cute little treat holders they were really quick and simple to put together.
Step 1
Stamp a cat onto Pumpkin Pie card with Memento ink.
Step 2
Using the punch, punch out the stamped image and another from plain card.
Step 3
Cut a strip of Pumpkin Pie card measuring 4" X 1"
Step 4
Score the strip of card at 1" intervals. Crease the score lines.
Assembly is just as quick!
Step 1
Add glue to the end section of the strip of card and fold the pieces over to create a triangle shape.
It should then look like this.
Step 3
Using Tombow, place glue on the front of the triangle shape and attach the stamped cat.
Step 4
Then, add glue to the reverse as shown above and attach the punched out cat.
Step 5
Pinch the top of the head and the tip of the tail together firmly for a few seconds until they adhere.
Step 6
I added a tiny bow with a jewel in the centre for a bit of sparkle as a finishing touch.
Each treat has been filled with a couple of little wrapped mints.
Here is my version along with the swap I received from Rosie.
I will be making lots of these little cats to hand out to my favourite ladies from a local care home on the 31st October.
Thanks again to Rosie for swapping with me. Why don't you have a look at the punches you have and see if you can use them in a new/different way?
Next up is Tricia - I'm sure she has something spooky to share with you!
Thanks for hopping along with us, don't forget to leave comments to let us know what you think of our projects.
