Power Of Hope - Tri-Fold Screen Card

Here are the details for our Coffee & Cards project this week using a stamp set called Power Of Hope.

Screen cards always look impressive and are simple to make - think of it as making 3 cards in one.  In fact, each of these panels would make a lovely card on their own wouldn't they?

To make the Screen
My base is a piece of Real Red card cut to 5 1/2" x 8 1/4".  Score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".  Crease the score lines.

I then used the Timeless Label punch for the screen legs.  I punched through all three pieces of card at the same time, (be firm - it will work) so they would all be in the same position.

TOP TIP
There are many other label punches you could use too - just have a look in your crafty stash and see what you have.

I then cut 3 pieces of gold foil 2 1/2" x 4 3/4" and embossed with the Stone 3D Embossing folder.  I adhered each panel with Tombow.

This embossing folder is a real 'keeper' for me - its one of those you can choose which side you want to use so very versatile.

I cut some panels of Basic Black card.  You need 2 pieces 2 1/4" x 4 1/2" and one measuring 2" x 4 1/4" for the centre panel which is slightly smaller as I wanted to show off the lovely foil embossed panel!  Adhere with Tombow.

You will also need 2 pieces of Whisper White card (normal) measuring 2" x 4 1/4" and 1 piece 1 3/4" x 4" (again for the centre).

Now for the fun part - decorating the panels!

Panel 1
I used the branch and flower dies from Seasonal Layers Dies.  The branch has been cut from Soft Suede and the flowers from thick ww.

I used a sponge dauber and Flirty Flamingo ink to add some colour to the flowers.  The branch has been adhered with Tombow and the flowers with tiny pieces of dimensionals.  I added a jewel to the centre of each flower for a bit of sparkle.  The sentiment has been embossed with black embossing powder.

Panel 2
I used a scrap of Peaceful Poppies DSP, stamping and heat embossed this lovely lady before fussy cutting her out and adhering with dimensionals.  I used Mossy Meadow light and dark Stampin' Blends to 'ground' her.   The sentiment has been heat embossed as before.

Panel 3
The pagoda has been stamped and heat embossed on the bottom of the panel and also on a scrap of thick ww card along with the lanterns.  The lanterns and the roofs of the pagoda have been fussy cut out.  Fiddly, but worth the effort I think!

Each lantern has been coloured with the dark Real Red Stampin' Blend.

Top Tip
Take care when colouring an embossed image as the edges of the embossing powder can damage the nib of the pen.  Try to colour between the lines so to speak.

Top Tip
I used a black Stampin' Blend to run around each piece to hide any white edges and adhered with tiny snips of dimensionals.

The image has been grounded with Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends.

The lanterns have been adhered with dimensionals along a line drawn with black pen.

I also added panels to the reverse so that a message can be written.  I used spare embossed images - we crafters don't like waste!

Here is the completed card.  I'm not sure which panel I like best but I love the sentiments!
