Power Of Hope - Sale-A-Bration Inspiration

Hello and welcome to another Stampers Showcase Blog Hop.  If you are joining the hop here or have popped over from Marita in Germany, welcome!  My name is Susan aka Craftyduckydoodah! I'm based in beautiful Cambridgeshire in the UK.

This month our theme is Sale-A-Bration (SAB) and we have lots of inspiration to share with you this month so, why not grab a cuppa and hop around with us.

I chose to use a stamp set called Power Of Hope and the coordinating Stone 3D Embossing Folder that can be yours free with a qualifying order but only until the end of March.

Initially this bundle passed me by until I saw the project on page 14 of the SAB brochure towards the end of January.  At first I could not figure out how the background had been created so, I had a bit of a play and came up with this.  No idea if this is how Stampin' Up! created the sample background but I was quite pleased with how it turned out.

To create the Power Of Hope card
I used Crumb Cake cardstock to create my project measuring 17.6cm x 12.7 cm, scored at 8.8 cm.  This is the same size (or very nearly) as the SU note cards.  I recently came across a couple of Crumb Cake envelopes (now retired) so used one for my project but you could just as easily use a ww one or, indeed, make one!

I placed the front of the card in the embossing folder and ran through my die cutting machine.

To create the background
I used a piece of thick ww card measuring 7 cm x 11 cm.  I stamped a row of trees (upside down) with Gorgeous Grape ink around 4 cm from the bottom of the card.  After cleaning the stamp, I used Poppy Parade ink to stamp two further rows of upside down trees.

I used an Aqua Painter to smoosh the ink around a little taking care not to mix the two colours.  It's up to you how much smooshing you do - why not experiment and see what you create?

I used Soft Suede ink with an Aqua Painter to create some 'ground' at the bottom of the panel.

I stamped the lady in Soft Suede onto a scrap of thick ww and fussy cut her out.

I used an Aqua Painter with some Gorgeous Grape ink to colour her robe.

Top Tip
Take care not to get too close to the Soft Suede outline as it will bleed!

The sentiment has been stamped in Soft Suede ink onto thick ww and trimmed to leave a narrow border.

To assemble the card
The stamped panel has been mounted onto a piece of Soft Suede card measuring 7.5 cm x 11.5 cm.  I used Tombow to adhere the panel to the card front.

The cut out lady and the sentiment have been adhered with dimensionals.

Some simple stamping on the inside completed the look.  Why not decorate the inside and the envelope if you have the stamps and inks on your desk?

Here is the completed card and envelope.  I stamped a single lady on the envelope with Soft Suede ink.  (Think I might add a swoosh of Soft Suede ink to 'ground' her).
