Beautiful You - Joy Of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge #JOSTTT0015

Welcome to another Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  This month our grid has been chosen by Laure Awsom Geffert. I confess I struggled with this grid - partly because I left things until the very last moment again!  When will I ever learn?

I decided to use Silver, Weather and Paper Piecing for my project.

I had a quick look on my stamp set shelves and came across a set called Beautiful You.  I have used this set a lot but for some reason, I have not it used for a long time.

I love the artistic feel of this stamp set and, as I fancied a spot of colouring it was perfect the perfect choice.

Here are the colours I used for my project.

Here is my project.

To create the Beautiful You card
Pool Party 29 cm x 10.5 cm scored at 14.5 cm
Pretty Peacock  10 cm x 14 cm
Watercolor Paper 9.7 cm x 13.7 cm
ww 10 cm x 14 cm (regular weight card)

To create the panel
First stamp the image using Stazon ink.  I then used an Aqua Painter and ink squished into the lid of a Pool Party ink pad to create a feint watercolor wash around the image.

I made a mask by stamping onto a sticky note and cutting out.  Place over the stamped image.

I used an image from a stamp set called Very Versailles and second generation Pool Party ink to create a background.

Top Tip
I always save any masks in the stamp case so that they are ready the next time I need them.

To colour the image
I used an Aqua Painter to colour the image and the following colours of ink:
Crumb Cake - hair
Petal Pink - skin
Pretty Peacock - dress

To assemble the card
Adhere the stamped panel to the Pretty Peacock layer with Tombow.  I find Tombow works best with this heavy weight card, especially when it is still slightly damp.  Did I mention I was making this project at the very last minute?

A piece of the lovely Scalloped Linen Trim has been wrapped around the panel, adhered on the reverse with double sided tape.

I then used dimensionals to adhere the panel to the card front.

I stamped the umbrella onto a scrap of Designer Series Paper and carefully cut out and adhered to the umbrella with Tombow.

I stamped a sentiment onto a panel of ww using Stazon and added and some branches stamped in Pool Party ink.  I also stamped on the envelope.

At this point I realised I had forgotten something; something rather important. The silver  element of the challenge!

After a frantic search through my embellishment stash I came across some Metallic Pearls - oh the relief!  I added several to the branch on the front of the card.

Here you can see all three elements of this challenge in one tiny photo - silver, weather and paper piecing.

So pleased I pulled the Beautiful You stamp set off the shelf; I enjoyed colouring this lovely image using two of my favourite colours and, I know just the person to send this card too!
