Honey Bee - Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another Stampers Showcase Blog Hop.  If you are starting here with me or hopping over from Dana Sullivan in the USA, we have lots of lovely projects to inspire you this month.

This month our theme is 'Happy Birthday'.  I have been tidying up my craft room recently and come to the conclusion I have too many bits and pieces that I have been saving to use on projects.  Does anyone else do this?  I hope I'm not the only one!  So, I'm on a mission to use them up.

I decided to use of some of the items in this little bag along with the Honey Bee Bundle for my project.

I have used the Honey Bee Bundle quite a lot hence the bag of leftovers.  In fact, it was one of the first bundles from the Spring/Summer catalogue I used for Coffee & Cards way back in January!

These are the colours I used for my project.

Here is my 'Happy Birthday' project.

To create the Honey Bee card
21 cm x 14.5 cm scored at 10.5 cm ww thick
10 cm x 14 cm ww thick
Daffodil Delight card - small piece
WW thick for the bee and sentiment.
Scrap of Designer Series Paper

To create the background
I used the lovely script image that can be found in a stamp set called Very Versailles - the stamp is so good you can read the writing! I stamped the script in the bottom right hand corner of the ww panel with Daffodil Delight ink and then adhered the strip of DSP across the front with Tombow. The ribbon has been adhered on the back with double sided tape.

I then adhered the panel to the card base with dimensionals.

To create the die cut elements
I stamped the large bee with Memento ink and cut out with the coordinating die.  I used the dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend to colour the body.

I cut out a piece of the honeycomb from Daffodil Delight card.

To Assemble the Honey Bee card
Place the honeycomb on the card and then put dimensionals on the back of the bee and adhere.  The dimensionals will also adhere the honeycomb!

I used a sentiment from a stamp set called Label Me Bold.

Top Tip
The photo above shows the difference between using Stazon or Memento ink - I used Stazon for my card!

I trimmed the sentiment and adhered with mini dimensionals.

A trio of sparkly jewels provided a finishing touch.

I also stamped on the inside of the card and the envelope.  Perhaps I stamped a little more than usual because of an inky splodge - shhhh!

I did in fact manage to use just two pieces from my little bag of leftovers; the DSP strip and the ribbon which I untied!

Next up is Stacey Marsh from the UK - click the image below to see her project.

Thanks for hopping along with us, I hope that wherever you are that you stay safe and well.
