Little Ladybug - Stamp 'N Hop
Hello and welcome to another hop around the world with Stamp 'N Hop. If you are joining me from Gill Chapman or, starting here with me here in the UK, we have lots of inspiration to share with you this month.
Our challenge this month was to make a project for girls/boys or children.
I decided to use a stamp set called Little Ladybug and the coordinating Ladybugs dies.
I've used this stamp set and the coordinating dies a lot recently, these little bugs are so cute and such fun to colour.
I used a RIBA frame for IKEA for my project.
To create the background
I used a piece of watercolour paper measuring 15 cm x 15cm.
Using an Aqua Painter and clean water I dampened the bottom third of the paper and then smooshed some Old Olive ink across.
After cleaning the brush, I wet the rest of the paper and then smooshed Soft Sky ink the create the sky.
Leave the panel to dry whilst creating all the die cut elements. If necessary, place under something heavy to flatten out.
To create the die cut elements
Stamp two flowers and the ladybirds with Memento ink. Cut out the pieces with the coordinating dies.
Colour the images with Stampin' Blends.
I used scraps of card to cut out a selection of flowers, stems and grass.
To assemble the background
Place the background behind the picture mount and adhere with washi tape.
I used a combination of Tombow and diemensionals to adhere all the other elements in the picture.
I used double and triple layer dimensionals on some of the elements. Some of the die cut pieces have also been tucked behind the mount.
I curled the leaves and shaped the flowers with my poky tool.
I did consider adding a name across the bottom but when I thought about it, I realised my daughter Rosie who is almost 26 would not appreciate it!
Here is the finished picture in its frame. These frames are lovely (I used them a lot) but they are very difficult to photograph!
The Ladybug Stamps can be yours free with a qualifying order but only until 31st March. The Coordinating Ladybugs Dies are also only available to purchase until the end of March so be quick if you need them!
I have just the person in mind for this picture; my friends daughter is expecting her second child any day now. All I need is a name for the little girl so I can die cut the correct letters.
Next up is Vicky Wright in Australia who I'm sure has something lovely to share with us. Thanks for hopping along with us.
Happy crafting!
